Fire-protective coatings adhesion

Nanoscale sihcon oxide is widely used in microelectronics, optoelectronics and electronics are parts of the means of fire protection, coatings, high temperature adhesives, paints, various mortars. Medical and biotechnology applications comprising silica nanoparticles and sorbent molecular sieves of DNA delivery vehicles, proteins, anticancer agents [17].

A high quality standard requires test certificates such as for tensile strength and coating adhesion, chemical properties such as hydrolysis resistance and optical properties such as UV, VIS and IR transmission. Furthermore, certificates for all kinds of resistance such as fire protection and ageing stability are also required. 

Paints are used for protective purposes (e.g. to prevent corrosion of metals or the ingress of moisture into wood), for decorative purposes (to colour and enhance the appearance of a surface) and for functional purposes (to afford fire protection or prevent marine fonUng). For all end uses, it is essential that the coating remains firmly adherent to the snrface for as long as possible. The robust adhesion of paint films, therefore, nnder aggressive service conditions such as sunlight, atmospheric pollution, abrasion and water immersion is of primary importance. 

For a possibility to use the fire retardant coatings, we need to solve a problem concerned with providing the required adhesion between the coating and protected material. The adhesive strength of the coatings to fiberglass plastic defined as the shear strength of a joint.

Isocyanates are volatile organic compounds widely used in industry for products such as printing inks, adhesives, two-pack paints (particularly in vehicle body shops) and in the manufacture of plastics (polyurethane products). They are irritants and sensitizers. Inflammation of the nasal passages, the throat and bronchitis are typical reactions to many isocyanates. When a person becomes sensitized to an isocyanate, very small amounts of the substance often provoke a serious reaction similar to an extreme asthma attack. Isocyanates also present a health hazard to fire fighters. They are subject to a workplace exposure limit (WEL) and respiratory protective equipment should normally be worn. Two-pack polyurethane paints and varnishes are used in construction as surface coatings. 

Bofly and Paint Line. On the body line, all adhesives and sealants are applied to the steel surfece covered with oil that is used for deep drawing and for corrosion protection. Accordingly, the adhesives and sealants used must be able to absorb the oil. In addition the adhesive must bond to a large number of surface coatings such as zinc, Zn-Ni, electrolytic zinc, fire zinc, prephosphated Zn, and organic coatings.
