Extractables level

For technical and safety reasons a number of other parameters must be controlled pressure of circulating gas, reactor pressure, nitrogen flow, temperature of the cooling water for the UV lamps, quantity of circulating gas and of circulating paraffin, extract level, S02 pressure, 02 pressure, S02 flow, 02 flow, off-gas flow, feed paraffin flow, feed water flow, and backwater flow. [Pg.162]

Extraction steam turbines will have minimum and maximum flows in each section of the turbine. This leads to minimum and maximum flows at each extraction level. [Pg.499]

The system Cl-butyl-cis-polybutadiene has been studied in some detail because it was suitable for the developed differential swelling technique and because this system of blends vulcanized with zinc oxide, sulfur, and thiuram disulfide first revealed the presence of interfacial bonds. This curative system has the feature of a flat cure —i.e.y the two homophases are vulcanized rapidly, and the crosslinked density does not increase radically as vulcanization time is prolonged. This is observed in Table IV by swelling and extractable levels of a series of crosslinked networks cured at increasing times and swollen in a common solvent, cyclohexane. [Pg.90]

Several classes of synthesized calixarenes bearing several moieties (ether, ester, and amide derivatives), were tested for the extraction of strontium picrates (from aqueous solutions into dichloromethane).128 Only a few of them show appreciable extraction levels. The p-i-butyl calix[6]arene hexa(di-/V-ethyl)amide (CA4) shows a very high extraction level of alkaline earth cations with respect to alkali metal cations. Moreover, dealkylation of the calix[6]arene hcxa(di-/V-cthyl)amidc (CA5) decreases the extraction of both sodium and strontium. As this decrease is much more important for sodium than for strontium, the Sr/Na selectivity, which increases from 3.12 to 9.4, is better than that achieved for DC18 derivative under the same conditions (8.7). These results were confirmed by extraction of strontium (5 x 10 4 M) from 1 M HN03 solutions, where it was found that p-t-butyl calix[4]arene tetra(di-N-ethyl) amide (CA2) (10 2 M in NPOE) extracts only sodium (DNa = 12.3, DSl < 0.001). [Pg.245]

Joshi and Sandhu (2000) have described the production of an apple vermouth with different ethanol concentrations (12%, 15%, and 18%), sugar contents (4% and 8%), and spice extracts (2.5% and 5.0%). These variables significantly influence their respective sensory qualities. Spices extract levels did not, however, affect TSS (°Brix), titratable acidity, color,... [Pg.266]

The solubilities of S-diketonate complexes of Cu, Zn, Ni and Co in supercritical CO2 were determined. A linear correlation was found between the stability of the metal complex and extractant dissociation. This correlation helps finding extractants optimized for both extraction of metals and the recovery of valuble chemicals. Supercritical CO2 best extracted Cu S-diketonates and the free metal could be best recovered in nitric acid. The other metal complexes showed lower extraction levels in the decreasing order of Ni, Co and Zn. The metal removal efficiency from the stripping solution into CO2 varied between 5 and 90% and decreased in the order Cu, Co, Ni and Zn. The overall... [Pg.707]

Dust Extraction. Adequate dust extraction is necessary to maintain high-speed operation for extended periods of time. The entire compression area should be shrouded to minimize dust infiltration into other press areas. Effective dust extraction minimizes dust and oil contamination on the surface of the tablets, which could produce black specs. Insufficient dust extraction results in excessive material build-up on the lower and upper punches leading to tight punches. However, the proper balance of dust extraction without high levels of material loss must be determined. If the dust extraction level is too high material could be extracted from the die cavities and the recirculation channel. Furthermore, the dust extraction systems preferentially removes the fine particles. Therefore, if the granulation is a direct-compression blend where the active constituent is of fine particle size, minimum dust extraction levels combined with minimal recirculation may be necessary to prevent a loss of active constituents (resulting in possible low assay). [Pg.3620]

Variables can be adjusted in order to increase the extraction rate and/or the maximum amount of analyte that can be extracted. While increasing the extraction rate expedites the process, it is probably more interesting to improve the overall analyte recovery. In some cases, the analyte can only be recovered to a given extent, however much the extraction is prolonged. The variables on which increased extracted levels rely are the most significant as regards optimization when quantitative extraction is sought. [Pg.293]

GC-MS can be used for determination of A-trifluoroacetyl derivatives of PAA. In cases when various analytes are present in the sample, MS detection in the scan mode instead of the SIM mode allows further identification by display of the full MS. A study was carried out of water spiked with aniline (la), toluene-2,4-diamine (2e), toluene-2,6-diamine (2f), 4,4/-diaminodiphenylmethane (5a), 4,4/-oxydianiline (6a), 3,3 -dimethylbenzidine (7d), 1,5-diaminonaphthalene and 1,3-phenylenediamine (lk), which underwent SPAD to the corresponding trifluoroacetamides (Section III.B.l). The LOD were in the 0.1 to 0.4 ftgL-1 range, with RSD from 4 to 17%. The method was used for testing the diffusion of PAA into food (simulated by water) which was in contact with laminated flexible food packaging materials. Detectable extracted levels were found for 2e, 2f and 5a68. [Pg.676]

An examination of the data for dynamic membranes formed under various conditions suggests that a combination of higher pressure and cross-flow rate yields both the highest product flux and lowest oil extraction values. However, the overall impression is that the TOC or extractables level of the product is far less sensitive to formation conditions than the hydraulic permeability or even the intrinsic salt rejection toward 10 3m Na2S0ij solutions. Further evi-... [Pg.250]

For many biochemical recovery applications, it is necessary to pretreat the resin to ensure that the extractable level of the resin complies with Food Additive Regulation 21 CFR173.25 oftheFederalFood, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Hypophysectomy (M15) did not alter extractable levels of thyrocal-citonin levels in the thyroid of treated rats as compared to controls. [Pg.413]

The following Table 3.1 compares crude oil extraction levels in OPEC countries in 1999. From the Table, it can be seen that Saudi Arabia is the largest crude oil producer among the OPEC countries. It must be emphasized that Saudi Arabia also extracts more crude oil than any other country in the world. [Pg.174]

Whereas the improvements on the extraction level are less spectacular, significant progress over the last few years can be noticed with respect to side-chain cleavage to 6-aminopenicillanic acid (6-APA) and 7-aminocephalosporanic acid (7-ACA) in switching from chemical to enzymatic procedures. [Pg.34]

An ILS provided further information on the performance of the method of McNabb et al. " Eight laboratories obtained data for eight toxins in the methanolic extracts of three contaminated mussel samples. " Some of the labs had little experience with analysis of YTX and other toxins by LC-MS. The precision estimates for YTX were repeatability 8-12% and reproducibility 15-22% with a Horwitz ratio (HorRat) of 1.3 (two extracts, levels equivalent to 2.9 and... [Pg.29]
