For underwater work, a combination system is recommended. Best results are obtd when die detonating cord is led from the main chge to a point above the surface of die water. An electric blasting cap is then attached to the cord and connected to the blasting machine or other power supply. The techniques described are not so complex as to require a chemical laboratory or machine shop however, many of them do assume access to basic demolitions and incendiary supplies, such as explosives, time (safety) fuse, detonating cord, blasting caps, and flammable materials, and to a few household tools. 

Bursters from 155-mm, M110 mustard agent projectiles are transferred by the PMD burster transfer conveyor to the burster size-reduction machine.
