Ethiopians

The modem history of the military use of toxic chemical agents (1,3—5) dates from the first full-scale (chlorine) gas attack on April 22, 1915, near Ypres, Belgium in World War I. There were a few reports of the limited use of toxic chemicals since that time. The Italians employed mustard, a bUster agent, during the Ethiopian war in 1935 and 1936 the Japanese used toxic chemicals in a number of small-scale engagements in the early years of their war with China and Iraq purportedly employed both mustard and nerve gases in the 1980s. 

And the bartender s vocabulary of ingredients widened substantially as Asian spirits like sake and shochu became bases for creating cocktails, and fruits and herbs like calamansi and shiso were employed as juices and embellishments. Even the martini met its match, with variations like the Bo Flai, a sophisticatedly subtle sake-tini served at Riingo, an American Japanese restaurant opened by a celebrated New York chef, Marcus Samuelsson (himself an Ethiopian Swede).

The IgD profile in a normal Nigerian population was similar to that of the British and American populations (T7). Interestingly, in more than half the patients with African trypanosomes, IgD was absent from their sera (M35). Three out of six diabetic patients had insulin antibodies of the IgD class (D3), and IgD levels were five to six times higher in Ethiopian children than in Swedish children of the same age (J4).
