OPTIMISE, a joint industry project, supported by EC-ESPRIT funding is such a project, where techniques are identified, optimised and validated for the inspection of bulk carriers, with the aim to increase the inspection scope and thus the safety level, at the same time reducing the time needed for the inspections. 

Traits to avoid include cynicism, laziness, and nay-saying, any of which can undermine a group s esprit de corps and impair its momentum.

The European/Australian Stroke Prevention in Reversible Ischaemia Trial (ESPRIT) confirmed the finding of ESPS 2, showing that the combination of aspirin and dipyridamole is more effective than aspirin alone in the prevention of new vascular events in patients with nondisabling cerebral ischaemia of presumed arterial origin. Adding the ESPRIT data to the meta-analysis of previous trials resulted in an overall risk ratio for the composite of vascular death, stroke, or MI of 0.82 (95% Cl 0.74-0.91).

Kirrmann and his colleagues in theoretical chemistry at the Ecole Normale Superieure still continued to look forward to the day when theoretical chemistry and theoretical physics would share laurels for I esprit de geometrie in understanding the natural world.
