ESPRIT program

The material in this book is based on work in the context of two research projects, Ascis (Architecture Synthesis for Complex Integrated Systems) and Nana (Novel parallel Algorithms for New real-time Architectures), both sponsored by the Esprit program of Directorate XIII of the European Commission. The chapters are partly based on material presented at the final project workshops, which took place at IMEC in Leuven, Belgium, on the 29th and 30th of April, 1992, marking the completion of three successful years of project cooperation. 

I gratefully acknowledge the constructive and fruitful cooperation which has been very active between Orsay and several laboratories in physics and chemistry all over Europe, Quebec, and South Korea. The list of colleagues and co-workers who have been involved in the research on molecular superconductors is so long that I would rather refer the reader to the reference list, where the names of colleagues who should be thanked for their cooperation can easily be found. During the second half of the 90s, the VEGA project (ESPRIT IV program) presented a proposal to bridge the gap between four standards (STEP, SGML, CORBA, EDI) developing the COrba Access to STep models (COAST) platform and services for distributing CAD applications.
