Once the inputs euid orrtputs are determined, the second and third steps of LCA, impact analysis and improvement analysis, can be prrrsued (Fava et al. 1991). For impact analysis, the analyst Unks the inventory of a substance released to an envirorrmental load factor such as acid deposition, which is defined in Table 6 (Potting et al. 1998). Environmental load factors are a frmetion of characteristics such as location, merlirrm, time, rate of release, route of exposrrre, natural environmental process mechanisms, persistence, mobility, accrrmrrlation, toxicity, and threshold of effect. Owens argues that because inventory factors do not have the spatial, temporal, or threshold characteristics that are inherent to the environmental load, other risk-assessment tools shorrld be used to evaluate a local process (Owens 1997). 

LCA software tools and matrices may be used to estimate environmental load factors for impact analysis (Graedel 1998 Graerlel et aL 1995). Alting and Legarth (1995) review 18 LCA tools for database avaffabiUty, impact assessment methodology, and complex product capability. 

Suitable gases in the form of supercritical fluids represent clean solvents/ carriers, which neither leave residues nor impose an environmental load. A number of factors determine the solubility of polymers in supercritical carbon dioxides (SCCO2) and these are given in Table 3.1.

In the future, the transportation and distribution system for fuel chips should be analyzed for cost reduction, while considering a reduction in environmental load. A simulation for the transportation and distribution system of fuel chips should include a number of factors including collection complexes in overseas regions such as China and South Korea in addition to Japan, intermediate treatment complexes, and consumption areas for the recycled goods. 

The frequency correlation lowers environmental disturbances. The correlation provides an output proportional to the content of Aa at the reference signal fundamental frequency, the phase conelation gives the sign of Aa. Where the stress gradients are very steep in materials of high thermal conductivity being loaded at low frequencies, the SPATE signals are attenuated and a correction factor has to be introduced to take into account this effect. 

Environmental factors such as severe hailstorms and human errors such as impact by aircraft service equipment also cause in-service damage to bonded assemblies. Bonded honeycomb sandwich assemblies are particularly prone to such damage because of their customary use as lightly loaded fairings and flight control surfaces and subsequent thin facesheets and relative fragility.
