Environment laws protecting

To protect people and the environment, crop protection chemicals must be used safely. This is everyone s responsibility, especially the user. Read and follow label directions, carefully before you buy, mix, apply, store or dispose of these chemicals. According to laws regulating them, they must be used only as directed by the label. 

In the field of radiation safety of the environment - regulated, in particular, by the Federal Law On the Environmental Protection - the legislation does not address the issues of standardization of radiation quality of objects of environment. Moreover, a number of the law provisions contradicts the existing legislation and real practice of radiation protection of the environment which use the sanitary-hygienic approach where if man is protected, the environment is protected too , as per the ICRP Recommendations in force (Publication 60). 

Environmental laws protect the environment in which we live by setting standards for the control of pollution to land, air and water.

Another reason is the law. Different societies use different standards for right and wrong. Societies set standards of conduct through laws and regulations. This reason for safety derives from the first. Laws define a society s moral code. The laws protect the safety, health, and welfare of individuals, property, and the environment. 

A nnmber of federal laws protect the environment as well as human health. The discipline of ecotoxicology encompasses toxicity testing in hundreds of nonmammalian species that are evolntionarily distant from our own, for example, fish, algae, zooplankton, higher plants, and birds (Table 5.1). Data obtained in ecotoxicological studies support ecological risk assessments (Chapter 9). 

The two main federal agencies involved in the protection of human health and the environment are the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). EPA s principal concern is the protection of the environment, in most cases, the area outside of an industrial faciUty. There are 10 regional offices that carry out the regulatory functions of the agency (Table 1). Primary laws covered by EPA are the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and LiabiUty Act (CERCLA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), and Eederal Insecticide, Eungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). 

Laws and regulations on the use of chemicals in aquaculture vary by country and serve to ensure safe and effective use and protection of humans and the environment. Regulations and therapeutants or other chemicals that are approved or allowed for use in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan are presented below. 

The Clean Air Act is the comprehensive Federal law that regulates air en stationary, and mobile sources. U.S. EPA s mission is to protect human health and the environment. In order to further this mission, Congress has enacted many environmental laws to address releases, or threats of releases, of hazardous constituents. An understanding of these laws is necessary to determine where RCRA fits into the national environmental protection program established by Congress and implemented by U.S.
