In 1949, J. Bockris, P. Van Rysselberghe, M. Pourbaix, and others founded the Comite International de Thermodynamique et Cinetique Electrochimique (CITCE), which was subsequently transformed into the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE). At about the same time, the publication of two major English electrochemical journals was organized Electrochimica Acta and the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry. [Pg.698]

As can be seen from the electrochemical journals and the literature, computers have not been applied to problems in fundamental electrochemistry in any significant way, although the problems are virtually identical to those encountered in the computerisation of spectroscopic techniques. A recent review of fundamental electrode kinetics and instrumentation, for example [6], is similar in content to a review of more than ten years earlier [7]. [Pg.454]

We did not present here a full description of the operation of an EQCM. This topic is well described in previous reviews (see Refs. 1,2) and in many articles published in readily accessible electrochemical journals. However, a few aspects of the experiments with the EQCM are covered in the Appendix (Sec. VIII.B). [Pg.8]

In physics, anal3dical modelling has long been considered a key component of research, together with numerical modelling and experiment. For historical reasons, however, in FC science analytical methods are much less developed, they still remain exotic goods . Several years ago the author received a negative response to a paper he submitted to a well-respected electrochemical journal. One of the reviewer s remarks was The work contains 52 equations . [Pg.298]

The research in the Professor Kemula s Laboratory as in other laboratories in Poland at that time was carried out under difficult conditions. There was the limited access to modem literature. Because of the lack of the Western currency, only selected electrochemical journals were present in libraries in the main academic centers in Poland. In that situation, researchers who worked in electrochemistry and in electroanalytical chemistry in Warsaw were in advantageous situation because in this city, there were three relatively good libraries in the University, at Warsaw Technical University, and in the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences. They were relatively well equipped with different journals. [Pg.322]
