Elastic ring method

Harmonic and transient relaxation experiments for dodecyl dimethyl phosphine oxide solutions were performed with the elastic ring method by Loglio [240]. This methods allows oscillation experiments in the frequency range from about 0.5 to 0.001 Hz and is suitable for comparatively slow relaxing systems. Slow oscillation experiments can be performed much easier now with the pendent drop apparatus [186]. Both techniques are also able to perform transient relaxation experiments. The two types of experiments have a characteristic frequency defined in the same way by Eq. (4.110). [Pg.376]

Oscillation experiments with the elastic ring method in the frequency range from about 0.5 to 0.001 Hz for dodecyl dimethyl phosphine oxide solution were first conducted by Loglio [68]. [Pg.465]

For local loads where a partial ring stiffener is to be used to reduce local stresses, the beam on elastic foundation method provides an ideal method for sizing the partial rings or stiffener plates. The stresses in the shell must then be analyzed by another local load procedure. Shell stresses can be checked by the beam-on-elastic-foundation method for continuous radial loads about the entire circumference of a vessel shell or ring. [Pg.255]

The angular distribution of elastically scattered neutrons of 3-7 Mev have been measured by Whitehead and Snowdon, using the ring method. Their results, which were confined to Al, Fe, and Pb, required very considerable correction for multiple scattering. Recently, the angular distribution of 1.0 Mev neutrons has been measured very accurately for a large number of elements by... [Pg.233]

A number of approaches for the computation of cavity shapes, sizes and elasticities have been reported and discussed in detail and controversially, and the methods, applications and interpretations have been reviewed extensively.91016"19,228 230,236 238 These also include models which appreciate chelate ring sizes12,17,239,240 and the directionality of the metal d-orbitals and the ligand lone pairs (misdirected valences).14,19,197,241... [Pg.315]

Analytical procedure for empty cylinder of Functionally Graded Material(FGM) with axial symmetry has been investigated. Based on thermal elasticity theory and computational mathematical method, temperature distribution has been obtained and thermal stress of FGM in ring section has been calculated. [Pg.35]

The method for fabricating nanotubes from GaAs/InAs strained heterostructures [2-4] is schematically illustrated by Fig. 1. The diameter D of self-formed tubes depends on the thickness d of the initial heterofilm and on the value of the elastic stress in it. This diameter therefore can be defined precisely in an MBE process. For a heterofilm made using two layers with identical thickness d, we have D d/(L a/a), where Aa/a is the lattice mismatch between the two layers. The high quality of MBE-grown heterostmctures makes it possible to obtain several centimeter long rolled tubes with diameters as small as 3 mn and with atomically smooth and uniform tube walls. From the above structures not only tubes, spirals and rings [2-4] but also other various shells formed by locally released films can be prepared [5,9]. [Pg.471]

The most commonly used method is called core spinning, in which staple fibers are wrapped around a hidden core. It produces chunky novelty yam, although the end weight of the yam depends on the core material used. The elastic fiber is used as core, which is wrapped with other fibers such as nylon, rayon, and cotton. It can be produced on regular ring spinning machines with special feeder rollers and guiding devices (Senthilkumar et ah, 2011). [Pg.61]

Generally, core spun and siro spun methods on regular ring spinning machines are used to produce core spun elastic yam with special feeder rollers and guiding devices. [Pg.61]
