Ring-spinning machines

The most commonly used method is called core spinning, in which staple fibers are wrapped around a hidden core. It produces chunky novelty yam, although the end weight of the yam depends on the core material used. The elastic fiber is used as core, which is wrapped with other fibers such as nylon, rayon, and cotton. It can be produced on regular ring spinning machines with special feeder rollers and guiding devices (Senthilkumar et ah, 2011). 

Generally, core spun and siro spun methods on regular ring spinning machines are used to produce core spun elastic yam with special feeder rollers and guiding devices. 

In the process of yam formation on conventional ring-spinning machines, individual fibres emerging from the nip of the front rollers change their radial position (migrate) until it is fixed by friction between the fibres generated... 

The collected web then was processed on a drawing machine, which uses a series of smooth rollers to draft out the fibers. The residual small pieces of yam and fabric caused the fibers to move as bundles, not as individual fibers. The result was frequent breaks in the sliver. After three passages of drawing, the sliver was entered into a laboratory ring spinning machine. The material processed by this machine was so uneven that it was judged to be unspinnable. 

In the next processing step, the flyer yarn is pulled off the flyer bobbins that are creeled on a frame and fed to the ring spinning machine.

For the production of woolen yarns, ring spinning can also be economical owing to their relatively low twist, which reduces the economic advantage of nonconven-tional spinning machines. 

With the nonconventional woolen spinning method, which was developed at the Institut fiir Textiltechnik at the RWTH Aachen, Germany, within a research project of the European Union, the slivers are produced on a novel compact card with only one tambour. They have a titer of about 4 ktex. Without additional roving formation, they can be spun directly into a yarn on a nonconventional woolen ring spinning frame or a modified OE-rotor spinning machine. 

The increase in spindle speed is caused by many development steps. The main influence is the reduction of the ring diameter to 40 mm. The reduction in cop weight is economicaiiy viabie oniy for an automated connection of ring spinning and winding machines. 

Cotton yarns used for jeans are mostly manufactured from carded, uncombed cotton and spun on OE-rotor spinning machines. For especially high-quality jeans fabrics, the cotton may he comhed and spun on ring spinning frames.
