The board of education requires that all vehicles used to transport pupils to and from school or school-related events be inspected a minimum of two times each year. Each state has its own policies and procedures regarding school bus inspections. These inspections should be made by qualified persons employed by the board. Such inspections will not replace the daily inspections of school buses by school bus operators, or the regularly scheduled preventive maintenance inspections by coimty school bus maintenance personnel, or the annual inspection of all motor vehicles required by the commissioner of motor vehicles in your respective states. These policies differ from state to state. [Pg.129]
