Mixing duration

Human Extended Insulin Zinc Suspension. Ultralente Humulin U is a long-acting form of human insulin produced by recombinant DNA techniques. It is adrninistered subcutaneously and should not be given intravenously. The time course of this preparation is similar for onset of activity but shorter for maximum activity and duration of action compared with ultralente preparations of animal origin. Insulins of the lente series can be mixed in any proportion to obtain the desired dose and modified activity. [Pg.340]

Chloroprocaine hydrochloride [3858-89-7] is characterized by low potency, rapid onset, short duration of action, and low systemic toxicity. It is indicated for infiltration anesthesia at 1—2% and for extradural anesthesia at 2—3% when short surgical procedures are performed under regional anesthesia. Chloroprocaine may be mixed with long duration agents such as bupivacaine (22, R = n-Q [) to afford a more rapid onset and shorter duration of action than bupivacaine alone. [Pg.415]

Alginate impression materials are chemically reactive mixtures. AH factors that influence reaction rates are, therefore, important in the use of these materials, ie, correct proportioning temperature of the water, powder, and mixing equipment and spatulation rate and duration. [Pg.491]

The disadvantage of lasers with nanosecond-picosecond pulse duration for depth profiling is the predominantly thermal character of the ablation process [4.229]. For metals the irradiated spot is melted and much of the material is evaporated from the melt. The melting of the sample causes modification and mixing of different layers followed by changes of phase composition during material evaporation (preferential volatilization) and bulk re-solidification [4.230] this reduces the lateral and depth resolution of LA-based techniques. [Pg.233]

Nonyl aldehyde (32.66 g, 0.23 mol) and furan (200 mL, 187.2 g, 2.75 mol) were mixed in a 250-mL photolysis flask equipped with a quartz immersion well containing a Vycor filter and a 450-W Hanovia Lamp. The system was kept at -20° C with an isopropyl alcohol bath cooled by a Cryocool Immersion Cooler (CClOO). Nitrogen was bubbled throughout the duration of the reaction, and the solution was stirred vigorously. Additional furan (150 mL, 140.4 g, 2.06 mol) was added during the course of the reaction. TLC analysis indicated completion of the reaction after 20 h. After evaporation of excess furan and NMR analysis of the resultant oil (48.70 g, ca. 100%) indicated the desired photoadduct had been formed, without contamination from unreacted nonyl aldehyde. [Pg.49]

Nitric oxide is the most stable oxide of nitrogen. It decomps above 1000° and will not support combustion below this temp. When mixed with hydrogen, it can be expld by a long duration, intense electric spark (Ref 8). It is very endothermic, its Qf being —21,575cal/g at RT (Ref 5)... [Pg.312]

PFPE, AI2O3, and X-IP were 500 mg, 200 mg, and 100 mg, respectively. The materials in Samples 2 to 4 were sufficiently mixed to ensure that the liquid PFPE and X-IP completely wet the alumina powders. These specimens were put in a closed space hlled with inert nitrogen. The flow rate of the nitrogen gas was kept at 20 milliliters per minute. The environmental temperature of the system was set at 220 ° C and the duration time was 250 minutes per sample for each individual operation procedure. PFPE used in the experiment was Z-dol and the alumina was in ultra-fine powders with chemical analytic grade purity. [Pg.216]

The RTD quantifies the number of fluid particles which spend different durations in a reactor and is dependent upon the distribution of axial velocities and the reactor length [3]. The impact of advection field structures such as vortices on the molecular transit time in a reactor are manifest in the RTD [6, 33], MRM measurement of the propagator of the motion provides the velocity probability distribution over the experimental observation time A. The residence time is a primary means of characterizing the mixing in reactor flow systems and is provided directly by the propagator if the velocity distribution is invariant with respect to the observation time. In this case an exact relationship between the propagator and the RTD, N(t), exists... [Pg.516]
