Goering always recognized that I had a dual responsibility, one to him in the Four Year Plan, and one to I.G. Farben as a private businessman. [Pg.308]

The choice of whether to make the mean the primary or the secondary response will depend on the objectives of the experiment. For example, if the objective is to have the mean on target with minimum variation then the dual response approach would suggest minimizing the variance (or... [Pg.39]

This dual responsibility can be enabled by the existence of a laboratory that operates with a certain degree of independence within the corporation (3). Such a laboratory has the following critical responsibilities (/) keep the science base renewed and vibrant, maintaining the base of science experts and... [Pg.128]

Garra and Muth [24] characterised cmde, semi-refined and refined oils by gas chromatography. Separation followed by dual-response detection (flame ionisation for hydrocarbons and flame photometric detection for sulphur-containing compounds) was used as a basis for identifying oil samples. By examination of chromatograms, it was shown that refinery oils can be artificially weathered so that the source of oil spills can be determined. [Pg.255]

Several who joined the program were contributors others did not have the requisite background and in spite of enthusiasms were of little value. Dr. Robert L. Cohen was one of the contributors he had the job of selecting a HABI that was most effective with the commercially available filters that would be useful with our dual-response imaging system. He found the best spectral match was with CDM-HABI. [Pg.160]

During the period of 1962 to 1964 we made significant improvements in the technology. Thanks to Yembrick s work, coatings achieved a high level of stability. Bob Cohen s work had resulted in the replacement of o-Cl-HABI with the preferred biimidazole, CDM-HABI, with a spectrum that maximized the imaging and deactivation peaks of the dual response spectrum (structures depicted in Scheme 4.8). [Pg.165]

Two routes toward positive-type proofs were discovered. R. D. Kempf of Towanda R D showed that the dual response system, in which a visible exposure gave rise to an inhibitor, followed by a flooding UV exposure yielded masters, which could be toned with our conventional liquid toning system, and gave positive-working proofs. This was an illustration of applying the photo-polymer technology of HABI chemistry for yet another application. [Pg.242]

The quality manager must have a direct line of communication to the head of the laboratory, who may sometimes be referred to as the technical manager. In a small laboratory it is quite acceptable, for both IS09000 and ISO 17025 purposes, for quality and technical management to be headed by the same person, provided the dual responsibilities do not cause a conflict of interest. However, for GLP (see Section 5.2) compliance, these functions must be clearly separated and fulfilled by different individuals. [Pg.60]

The Project Manager has a dual responsibility to both the Venture Manager and to the CED Director for the execution of the engineering, procurement, and construction. [Pg.355]

The Construction Manager has a dual responsibility to both the Project Manager and the plant engineer. The Construction Manager represents the Project Manager in the field and is the official contact with construction contractors in all field-related matters. Generally, the CM is responsible for all field activities including those performed directly by the Owner s personnel. The duties include but are not limited to ... [Pg.359]
