Diversity planning

In 2006, after a year of discussions, the committee developed a university diversity plan, which was approved by the faculty senate. 

It is also important that the accountability and reward systems for faculty and staff include attention to diversity and inclusion, such that employees are evaluated based in part on their effectiveness with respect to the university s diversity and inclusion action plan and their success in incorporating diversity awareness, knowledge, and skills into their everyday assignments and tasks. As an example, at Alliant, after adoption of the university diversity plan, the provost worked with the faculty senate to amend the criteria for faculty advancement and promotion to include the degree to which faculty incorporate multicultural and international topics and issues in their teaching and scholarship. In their annual self-study, faculty are asked to discuss whether and how their work has integrated multicultural and international issues, and their program directors, deans, and peer reviewers consider this in the evaluation decision. 

Notably, Alliant is a leader in this arena. Alliant s diversity plan includes attention to both multicultural and international issues and competencies, and in 2011 Alliant was selected by ACE to join its At Home in the World Initiative, in which eight U.S. colleges and universities formed a two-year learning community focused on the integration of multicultural education and internationalization in the curricula.

Continuous releases of concentrated HjS streams must be segregated in a separate flare system to limit the extent of fouling and plugging problems. Releases of HjS such as diversion of sour gas product to flares during shutdown or upset of a downstream sulfur recovery unit are considered to be continuous, but safety valve releases are not included in this category. However, if a special HjS flare system is provided for continuous releases, the concentrated HjS safety valve releases should be tied into it rather than into the regular flare system. Due to the nature of HjS one should plan on frequent inspection and flushing of HjS flares to remove scale and corrosion products.

When planning a worker exposure/re-entry study, the number of sites selected should reflect the use pattern of the product. Usually three different sites, each in a different geographical location, are recommended to ensure good representation of the areas when the product has wide use. The different geographical locations offer the researcher diversity in equipment used to treat the crops as well as diversity in the work habits of the individuals in the study. 

A description of how large academic laboratories are administered, illustrating how different management styles can be successful, has appeared in the literature.114 There is great diversity in laboratory operations in large laboratories, but clearly contact between those who plan the projects, those who have high skills in project operations, and those who execute the more...

The diversity of the stated constraints dearly shows that feasible solutions can only be achieved where constraints and their interdependency is mapped in their entirety in the production plan. 

This book covers the fundamentals of instrumentation as well as the applications, to lead to better utilization of instrumentation by all scientists who plan to work in diverse scientific laboratories. It should serve as an educational tool as well as a first reference book for the practicing instrumental analyst. 

These plans envision assembling a portfolio of in-licensed drug candidates for which collective development risk is deemed to be relatively low. The idea is to in-license molecules that either are too specialized (small market potential) for large pharma or are not visible to their radar because they come from places like Eastern Europe. These stories are favorites of professional investors, because rNPVs can be calculated with relatively low development risk on the basis of demonstrated clinical utility and/or pipeline diversity. Examples include Dura Pharmaceuticals, who marketed prescription products that treat infectious and respiratory diseases, and Gilead who marketed antiviral nucleotides discovered in the Czech Republic.
