Dimethyl-hexadecyl

Die Kinetik der Kupplung von 4-Nitro-phenyldiazonium-SaIzen in Gegenwart von Oberfliichen-aktiven Substanzen wurde untcrsucht1. Die Reaktionen von 2-Hydroxy- und 2-Hydroxy-6-sulfo-naphthalin waren mit 4-[(Dimethyl-hexadecyl-ammoniono)-methyl]-phenyldiazonium-dibromid t22 bzw. 244mal schneller (pH = 7) als mit der Vergleichsverbindung 4-(Dimethylamino-methyl)-phcnyldiazoniumbromid2. [Pg.33]

In this technique, two types of reactants are placed separately in two immiscible solvents, one of which is water. Polymerisation takes place at the interface in the presence or absence of a phase transfer catalyst (PTC) such cetyl tributyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), benzyl dimethyl hexadecyl ammonium chloride (BDMHDAC), tetramethyl ammonium bromide or tetraphenyl phosphonium bromide. This process is carried out by agitation or under static conditions. This technique is effective for condensation polymers or for the formation of polyaniline nanofibre. The advantages of the interfacial polymerisation technique include the use of simple equipment, nfild reaction conditions and flexibility in the ratio or purity of reac-... [Pg.16]

PCL/layered silicate nanohybrids have also been synthesized by ring opening polymerization of CL according to a well-controlled eoordination-insertion mechanism. MMT were surface-modified by non-functional (trimethyl hexa-decyl ammonium) and hydroxyl functional alkylammonium cations, i.e., (2-hydroxyethyl) dimethyl hexadecyl ammonium. The hydroxyl funetions available at the clay surface were activated into tin (II or IV) or A1 (III) aUcoxide initiators for lactone polymerization, thus yielding surface grafted PCL chain. [Pg.83]

Then, two MCM-41 materials modified by octyl-dimethyl chlorosilanes were tested. The parent MCM-41 matrices were synthesized by conventional route using hexadecyl-trimethylammonium bromide (sample MTS2) and octadecyl-trimethylammonium bromide (sample MTSl). They exhibit typical peaks of hexagonal ordered mesoporous materials in X-ray diffraction patterns. [Pg.198]

Goldfarb et al. (65) discovered how to monitor the synthesis of MCM-41 in the liquid/solid phase by EPR spectroscopy using a nitroxide radical, 4-(A, A -dimethyl-A -hexadecyl)-ammonium-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl piperidinyloxy iodide (CAT16), as probe molecule. This nitroxide has a structure similar to that of cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC), which was used as surfactant in the synthesis of MCM-41 (Fig. 7). Thus, it was shown to be the best suited to monitor the formation process of MCM-41. Because the synthesis was performed at room temperature, commercial flat cells could be used for EPR measurements without the need for further heating. [Pg.282]

The first studies of the effect of micelles on the exchange of matter to interfaces subject to harmonical disturbances of the surface area were performed by Lucassen (1976). He used an aqueous solution of hexadecyl dimethyl ammonium propanesulfonate (HOPS) below and above the CMC. The exchange of matter, shown by the effective dilational elasticity E, is affected considerably by the presence of micelles, as discussed above. The lower the frequency of disturbance, the more pronounced is the influence of micelle kinetics on the exchange of matter (cf. Fig. 6.12), the line marks the CMC of HDPS. Lucassen was able to describe the behaviour by using the theory given by Eqs (6.25), (6.26)). [Pg.225]
