Impurity Diisopropyl methylphosphonate (DIMP) (1445-75-6) High low volatility water-soluble resistant to hydrolysis slow biodegradation RfD 80 pg/kg/day ... [Pg.93]

GB manufactured in the USA was at least 93% pure. Impurities may include diisopropyl methylphosphonate (DIMP), a stable byproduct of manufacture, and methylphosphonic difluoride. DIMP is usually present at 2-3% in isopropyl methylphosphonate waste and is present in sampling wells, both on and off the RMA (Rosenblatt et al., 1995 Aulerich et al, 1979). In 1974, DIMP concentrations of 0.5 pg/1 (the limit of detection) to 44000 pg/1 were found in the groundwater near the Arsenal (Robson, 1981). [Pg.109]

DMMP), dimethyl phosphonate (DMHP) or diisopropyl methylphosphonate (DIMP) are commonly used as simulants. For nitroaromatic detection, 2,4-dinitrotoluene (2,4-DNT) is a commonly used simulant, although many TNT-based explosives often have a significant component of 2,4-DNT in the vapor signature. [Pg.80]

Two types of SPME fibers (Supelco, Inc.) were evaluated for each analyte 100-pm polydimethyl-siloxane and 85-pm polyacrylate coatings. Samples were then analyzed directly by GC-MS (Varian Saturn IV D) or derivatized on fiber first, then analyzed by GC-MS. The on-fiber derivatization procedure is accomplished by gently coating the SPME fiber with N,0-bis(trimethylsilyl)-trifluoroacetamide (BSTFA) prior to GC-MS analysis. The sample matrices analyzed in this study included soil leachate (sandy loam, Oakley, CA), simulated sea water (Instant Ocean, Aquarium Systems Co., Mentor, OH), and canal water (rain runoff, Livermore, CA). The chemical signatures we selected for the proliferation of CW included dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP), diisopropyl methylphosphonate (DIMP), 1,4-dithiane, thiodiglycol (TDG), and 2-(diisopropylamino)ethanol (DIAE). [Pg.71]
