Differential scanning calorimetiy

Differential scanning calorimetiy (DSC) of native and crosslinked -D-g ucosidase. The sample of glutaraldehyde-stabilized -D-glucosidase was produced essentially as detailed earlier (77), i.e., by treatment of the enzyme with glutaraldehyde at pH 9.0 in borate for... [Pg.141]

Differential scanning calorimetiy thermograms obtained for the (1) Form I and (2) Form II polymorphs of iopanoic acid. (The fignre was adapted from data contained in Ref. 94.)... [Pg.254]

Differential Scanning Calorimetiy (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) evaluations were performed using Perkin Elmer DSC-2C to obtain the Tg, T, and MI. A Du Pont Model 2950 TGA was used to evaluate the total amount of carbon dioxide uptake in polymers. A constant heating rate of 20°C/min was used in both the DSC and TGA evaluations. [Pg.128]

In principle Differential Scanning Calorimetiy and Thermogravimetry are suitable methods for investigation of the kinetics of pyrolysis and oxidation reactions of heavy crude oils and heavy petroleum products. The repeatability of selected values i.e. onset and offset point temperatures, and DSC (DTA) and DTG peak maximum temperatures, is excellent. For the pyrolysis reaction the coefficient of variation is 2 % maximum. In the oxidation reaction this is also true for the regions of low temperature oxidation and of fuel combustion. For the fuel deposition region of reaction the repeatability is worse. [Pg.477]

The effects of addition of the hydrophilic water-insoluble PVA on the non-enzymatic and enzymatic hydrolysis of hydrophobic PLLA were investigated [148]. The results of gravimetiy, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), differential scanning calorimetiy (DSC), tensile testing, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) exhibited that the non-enzymatic and enzymatic hydrolysis of PLLA was accelerated by the presence of PVA and both the Itydrofysis rates increased dramatically with a rise in PVA content in the blend films. The enhanced non-enzymatic hydrolysis of PLLA in the blend films was ascribed to the increased water concentration around PLLA molecules and water supply rate to them by the presence of Itydrophilic PVA both in PLLA-rich and PVA-rich phases. However, the accelerated enzymatic Itydrolysis of PLLA in the blend films was due to occurrence of enzymatic hydrofysis at the interfaces of PLLA-rich and PVA-rich phases inside the blend films as well as at the film surfaces. [Pg.157]

Because the type 11 interaction contains two elementary bonds, whereas the type 111 interaction contains three, the energy difference fiii-fii corresponds to the association energy of the single elementary bond. From the ratio T2/T3 = 0.22 and Eq. 19.2, this elementary association energy is estimated to be about -1.5 k T, which corresponds to -0.9 kcal/mol at 300 This value is approximately consistent with that estimated by differential scanning calorimetiy. ... [Pg.729]

Differential thermal analysis or differential scanning calorimetiy (dsc) measures the temperature change in a sample cell, generally relative to some inert standard, and can be run at fixed temperature versus time or as a function of temperature. Samples can be run under pressure. The areas under an exotherm or endo-therm can be related to heat change, and consequently, in addition to melting points and Tg values, parameters such as heats of fusion can be evaluated. The characterization of reaction... [Pg.322]
