Pont Model

The DSC thermogram of chlorpromazine hydrochloride shown in Figure 2 was obtained using Du Pont model 9900 differential scanning calorimetry system, using a sample size of 2.83 mg and a heating rate of 10°C/minute [13]. [Pg.103]

A du Pont model 940 thermomechanical analyzer was employed for the Tg measurements on the PEMA/PVdF polyblends by the TMA technique. The sample specimens were cut from 30-mil, melt pressed sheets of the respective blends and examined by heating from —60° to 100°C at a rate of 5°C/minute. Sharp, unambiguous transitions were observed. [Pg.29]

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) evaluations were performed using Perkin Elmer DSC-2C to obtain the T, T, and A/f. A Du Pont Model 2950 TGA was used to evaluate the total amount of carbon dioxide uptake in polymers. A constant heating rate of 20°C/min was used in both the DSC and TGA evaluations. [Pg.128]

Williams and Wendlandt (68) have described a high-pressure thermobalance based on the Du Pont Model 950 balance and capable of operation at temperatures of 500°C and 500 atm pressure. A schematic diagram of the balance enclosure is shown in Figure 3.34. The balance chamber was machined in the form of a cylinder from stainless steel. The furnace was insulated with Marinite which was machined to fit inside the pressure vessel and extent from the inner plato to the front of the balance housing. Provision was made for fitting the furnace within the insulated chamber and permitting... [Pg.130]

The Du Pont Model 943 TMA module is shown in Figure 11.4. The apparatus uses a LVDT to sense linear displacements of the sample probe. A thermocouple in direct contact with or in close proximity of the sample is used to detect the sample temperature. The sample and probe are surrounded by a temperature-controlled cylindrical heater and Dewar assembly. Various probe configurations allow the apparatus to be used in the expansion, compression, penetration, tension, stress relaxation, parallel plate rheometry, and fiber tension. The temperature range of the instrument is — 180-800°C an optional furnace can be used to extend the range to 1200 C. [Pg.675]

The thermal analysis (5) of dioctyl sodium sulfo-succinate was conducted on a Du Pont Model 900 themal analyzer in a nitrogen atmosphere. At heating rates of 10 C/ minute and 3°C/minute, the thermogram (Figure 3) shows no endotherm, but an irregular curve after 120°C. No transition was observed except foaming of the sample. [Pg.204]

The glass transition temperatures (7 ) of the phenohc hybrid ceramers were measured by a differential scanning calorimeter (Du-Pont, model 10). The heating rate was 10 C/min. The measurements were made with 3-4 mg sample on a DSC plate after the specimens were quickly cooled to room temperature following the first scan. Glass transition temperatures were determined at the... [Pg.491]
