Diethylene glycol diacrylate

The DADC monomer has been copolymerized with small amounts of polyfunctional methacryflc or acryflc monomers. For example, 3% triethylene glycol dimethacrylate was used as a flexibiflzing, cross-linking agent with a percarbonate as initiator (26). CR-39 and diethylene glycol diacrylate containing isopropyl percarbonate were irradiated with a mercury lamp to a 92% conversion and then cured at 150°C (27). By a similar two-step process DADC was copolymerized with methyl methacrylate and tetraethylene glycol dimethacrylate (28). [Pg.83]

The effect of irradiation dose and different polyfunctional monomers(PFMs) at a constant ratio of 10 phr on the physicochemical properties of a PVC formulation used as wire coating was investigated. The PFMs used were trimethylolpropane triacrylate, trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, diethylene glycol diacrylate, pentaerythritol tetraacrylate, triallyl cyanurate and 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate. The properties studied included tensile properties at room and elevated temps., softening temp., swelling characteristics and volume resistivity. 18 refs. [Pg.85]

Solvent effectiveness in the benzophenone-photoinitiated polymerization of methyl methacrylate was in the order tetrahydrofuran > isopropanol > toluene > benzene (46). In the case of TCMB, isopropanol gaw slightly higher polymerization rates than tetrahydrofuran, but both wore again considerably more effective than toluene and benzene. As might be expected, monomers which thonselves contain ether grouj , e.g. diethylene glycol diacrylate (7), do not require addition of a separate hydrogen-donor solvent for efficient photoinitiation by benzophenone. [Pg.72]

A mixture of maleic anhydride, styrene, and diethylene glycol diacrylate was used, partially prepolymerized, and reacted with untreated or with H202/ferrous sulfate-pretreated wood. The IR spectra indicated the probable formation of covalent bonds between the introduced mixture and the hydroxyls of wood. Details of the procedure were, however, unavailable (119). [Pg.371]
