Diethyl 2-hydroxyethyl phosphate

Diethyl 2-hydroxyethyl phosphate was prepared from the reaction of diethyl hydrogen phosphate with ethylene oxide. This is shown in Eq 3a of Fig. 13. An average of 1.3 moles of ethylene oxide added per mole of the diethyl hydrogen phosphate. Similar results were obtained when using pure dibutyl hydrogen phosphate (36). Gas chromatography of the silinated compounds obtained from the reaction of dibutyl hydrogen phosphate and ethylene oxide shows compounds with one, two and three ethylene oxide adducts are formed in this reaction. The reaction of alkylene oxides with... [Pg.267]

The Impure diethyl hydroxyethyl phosphate was reacted with phosphorus phosphoric acids was neutralized with ethylene oxide to yield a clear, non-volatile oil with a phosphorus content of 16.5%. The reaction of these phosphorus acids with ethylene oxide is illusrated in Eq. 3c. This product mixture has a functionality similar to that of Vircol 82. [Pg.270]

Phosphates are also known that have the phosphoric acid moiety in a side chain bound to glucose units. Such compounds have been prepared from diethyl 2-chloro-l-hydroxyethyl phosphonate [ClCH2CH(OH)PO(OEt)2].1585 The starch phosphonate ethers had a DS of 0.0138. In addition, 2-methyl-3-phosphono-2-oxazolinium chloride sodium salt was reacted with starch to produce stable, aqueous dispersions.1586... [Pg.245]

A convenient synthesis of diethyl (2-arylethenyl)phosphonates starts with readily available diethyl methylphosphonate this is converted into its carbanion (BuLi) and the latter acted upon by an appropriate aldehyde or ketone. The resultant (2-substituted-2-hydroxyethyl)phosphonate is phosphory-lated and, without isolation of the phosphate ester, a treatment with KOBu eliminates diethyl phosphate and yields the desired product Other diethyl (2,2-disubstituted-ethenyl)phosphonates have been prepared by the addition of organomagnesium-copper reagents to diethyl ethynylphos-phonate ... [Pg.144]
