Design safety measure

Explosion Isolation For all equipment systems protected by design safety measures it is also necessary to prevent the propagation of an explosion from these protected vessels into operating areas or equipment connectedviainterconnectingpipeline. Such an approach is referred to as explosion isolation. 

A safety board can proactively design safety measures on the basis of a safety analysis and guidelines at a moment when all parties involved still have in interest in prevention and control of safety risks. After an incident, conflicts of interest may occur, which may interfere with the execution of adequate safety measures.

It should be noted that the terms safety feature, safety measure, safety mechanism, DSF, design safety measure, design safety mechanism, and hazard countermeasure are synonymous and can be used interchangeably however, most system safety practitioners tend to use the terms safety feature or safety measure most often.

It is observed that the body s resistance diminishes at higher voltages, above 1 kV and currents more than I A, passing through the body, due to a puncture of the skin tissues. For all safety measures and ground design consideration, the average human body resistance is considered universally, as 1000 Q which has yielded satisfactory results.

In most cases, however, the design will not be inherently safe so that measures and/or controls will have to be introduced into the design. Two types of safety measures are defined (1) preventive, and (2) defensive (protective or mitigating). 

Many of the studies done in safety assessment are multiple endpoint screens. Such study types as a 90-day toxicity study or immunotox or neurotox screens are designed to measure multiple endpoints with the desire of increasing both sensitivity and reliability (by correspondence-correlation checks between multiple data sets). 

Traditional definitions of safety factors in terms of strength requirements, such as load-resistance factors or allowable stresses, are not applicable in blast resistant design. Safety factors arc more appropriately measured in terms of strain energy demand versus strain energy absorption capacity, Allowable deformations arc a practical method to quantify energy absorption capacity. 

Any dosage-form can produce adverse drug reactions. Hence, a regular feed back of relevant information on such adverse reactions from the medical practitioners to the appropriate regulatory authorities and the concerned manufacturers would not only help to intensify better safety measures but also widen the scope to improve drug-design by meticulous research scientists all over the world.
