Derivatives B

Lypressin (8-L-lysine-vasopressin) acts like AVP. Other derivatives may display only one of the two actions. [Pg.168]

Desmopressin is used for the therapy of diabetes insipidus (AVP deficiency), primary nocturnal enuresis and von Willebrand disease (p. 152) it is given by injection or via the nasal mucosa (as snuff ). [Pg.168]

Felypressin and ornipressin serve as adjunctive vasoconstrictors in infiltration local anesthesia (p. 204). [Pg.168]

Substitution Derivatives of Ethyl Malonate, Ethyl malonate resembles ethyl acetoacetate in that it gives rise to mono- and di-substituted derivatives in precisely similar circumstances. Thus when ethanolic solutions of ethyl malonate and of sodium ethoxide are mixed, the sodium derivative (A) of the enol form is produced in solution. On boiling this solution with an alkyl halide, e.g, methyl iodide, the methyl derivative (B) of the keto form is obtained. When this is treated again in ethanolic solution with sodium ethoxide, the... [Pg.275]

These 0-bonded substituents are easily cleaved with hydroxide ion to give the corresponding hydroxyl derivative, [B H (OH)] or [B H 2(OH)2] , n = 10,12. Halogenation of [B22H22] A by HCl and HF has been termed acid-catalyzed nucleophilic attack (95). [Pg.237]

A large body of information is available on the UV spectra of pyrazine derivatives (B-61MI21400, B-66MI21400). Pyrazine in cyclohexane shows two maxima at 260 nm (log e 3.75) and 328 nm (log e 3.02), corresponding to ir->ir and n ir transitions respectively (72AHC(14)99). Auxochromes show similar hypsochromic and bathochromic shifts to those observed with the corresponding benzenoid derivatives. [Pg.161]

The excellent book by the late Professor T. J. Batterham contains all the available information (up to 1973) on pyrazoles and their non-aromatic derivatives (B-73NMR165) and on indazoles (B-73NMR263). The bibliography for pyrazoles and pyrazolones has been updated in (B-76MI40402). It should be emphasized that almost all the principal results about the H NMR spectra of these heterocycles were published at that time, and thus only a summary of the principal conclusions is needed here. [Pg.182]

Many azo dyes, such as tartrazine (Section 4.04.4.1.3), are susceptible to reduction by bacterial reductases in the intestinal flora. Azo reduction is believed to proceed through a hydrazo intermediate that undergoes subsequent reductive cleavage of the nitrogen-nitrogen bond to yield the arylamine derivatives (B-80MI40406). [Pg.302]

Lobinine, CjgHggOgN. First isolated by Wieland, Ishimasa and Koschara who, on the evidence then available, regarded it as 2-phenacyl-l-methyl-7-)3-hydroxypropylhexamethyleneimine, CjgHjjOjN (XXI), which was modified to (XX) in 1989. It furnishes an oxime (B. HCl, m.p. 182°) and a benzoyl derivative (B. HCl, m.p. 146-7°). On reduction by sodium in acetic acid it is converted into the unsaturated dihydric alcohol for which th original name lobinol has been changed to /3-lobinanidine,... [Pg.30]

This with diazomethane gives a dimethyl derivative, CggH gOg, m.p. 165-6°, which under controlled conditions is hydrolysed by alkali to a monomethyl derivative (A), CjgHjjOg, m.p. 128°. An isomeric monomethyl derivative (B), in which it is the other point that is methylated, is obtained by methylating aeetyldeeevinic acid, CjgHjgO, m.p. 169-171°,... [Pg.703]

This structure rationalizes (a) the formation of mono- and, under more vigorous conditions, tetra-acetyl derivatives, (b) the methyla-tion to a dimethyl derivative still containing two active hydrogens, (c) the pyrolysis back to monomeric indole, (d) the formation of a benzylidene derivative containing the Ph CH=N— Ar ehromophore, (e) the failure to form a simple nitroso derivative, (f) the Zn/AcOH reduction of the dimethyl trimer to base C18H20N2, shown to be identical with the dihydro derivative of (26). [Pg.302]

The detailed first principles study of the three stable polymorphs has been performed recently using the LCAO technique The main drawback of that work is that no cell optimization was performed for anatase or brookite. The energy-volume curves that were used to calculate the bulk modulus, B, and its pressure derivative, B, have been produced by varying the volume with the c/a ratio and fractional atomic coor nates being fixed at experimental values which makes results unreliable. [Pg.20]

Most of the inhibitors in use are organic nitrogen compounds and these have been classified by Bregman as (a) aliphatic fatty acid derivatives, b) imidazolines, (c) quaternaries, (d) rosin derivatives (complex amine mixtures based on abietic acid) all of these will tend to have long-chain hydrocarbons, e.g. CigH, as part of the structure, (e) petroleum sulphonic acid salts of long-chain diamines (preferred to the diamines), (/) other salts of diamines and (g) fatty amides of aliphatic diamines. Actual compounds in use in classes (a) to d) include oleic and naphthenic acid salts of n-tallowpropylenediamine diamines RNH(CH2) NH2 in which R is a carbon chain of 8-22 atoms and x = 2-10 and reaction products of diamines with acids from the partial oxidation of liquid hydrocarbons. Attention has also been drawn to polyethoxylated compounds in which the water solubility can be controlled by the amount of ethylene oxide added to the molecule. [Pg.794]

The oxazaborolidines are easily prepared by heating ephedrine with borane dimethyl sulfide or the appropriate boronate ester. The aluminum reagent C is obtained by mixing ephedrine and trimethylaluminum. Borolidinc A is superior to its methyl derivative B and to the aluminum analog C. The diastereomeric borolidine obtained from borane and (S,S)-pseu-doephedrine failed to show any cnantioselectivity25. A variety of aromatic aldehydes can be enantioselectively alkylated in the presence of A, however, with heptanal the enantioselectivity is poor25. [Pg.177]

Observations on Some Carbohydrate Benzylidene Derivatives, B. Dobinson, A. B. Foster, and M. Stacey, Tetrahedron Lett., (1959) 1. [Pg.33]

If this is so, the protonated derivatives B and C would not appear at all. This conclusion stems from a value of w (see p. 335) of 5, indicating that water acts as a proton donor here as well as a nucleophile." " Termolecular processes are rare, but in this case the two water molecules are already connected by a hydrogen bond. (A similar mechanism, called Bac3, also involving two molecules of water, has been found for esters that hydrolyze without a catalyst. Such esters are mostly those containing halogen atoms in the R group.)... [Pg.472]
