Date data type

Computer applications allow for defining and managing several important nonclinical data types that are managed by the system itself. Such data are referred to as metadata or control data. These are information such as domain-specific descriptions, application conditions, parameters, and methods in a repository. Control data fields can be part of the data collection forms or in system-defined tables. Some of these control fields include electronic signatures, form status, transmission date, transmission number, field completed, and memo fields (large text format). The database contains tables for reference ranges, visit schedule, form schedule, labels, and drug codes. [Pg.618]

As you saw earlier. Excel recognizes the format of data typed into cells. If you enter a value such as 6/23/00 and then choose Cells... from the Format menu, choose the Number tab and choose the Custom category, you ll see that Excel has recognized the value as a date and applied the m/d/yy number format. Now choose the format d-mmm-yy from the menu and observe the Sample display at the top of the dialog box. The data is displayed as23-Jun-00. [Pg.38]

Each set of experimental data will likely have to be considered separately. Some measurements may require several columns, while other will require only one. Some measurements may have measured or estimated uncertainties, while others may be more indefinite, such as "active" or "inactive." All measurements will have a date associated with them and this should be stored. Many experimental values will be noninteger numbers. These may be stored using the numeric data type or float or double, depending on the accuracy needed and whether computations on these values will be carried... [Pg.162]

The sampling dates and types of cores taken at each station, for which data are presented, are given in Table III. Often more than one core of each type was taken and only the best (e.g., longest, straightest insertion) was used for analysis. In general, box cores were taken in summer, fall, and winter-spring periods at each station and represent times of warmest, intermediate, and coldest water temperature. Sampling was carried out over 2-yr periods at FOAM and NWC and for 1 yr at DEEP. [Pg.252]

Note that many features of a chemical database system could not be reasonably duplicated with a commercial DBMS. One reason was that general DBMS s were designed to treat numbers, text, dates and money data types, but not abstract data types such as chemical structures. This allowed DBMS vendors to tune the performance of their product to the needs of the general business community, a vast market place, and to avoid specialisation in narrower markets such as the chemical/pharmaceutical industry. [Pg.99]

Data Type. The text should indicate the name or identifier of each data set and the date of data collection. The data sets may originate from several sources. For each source, the type should be indicated. It can be ... [Pg.435]

The limited source of knowledge on the absorption and metabolism of flavonoids has been generated by studying isolated flavonoids and individual foods and more studies will be needed on the investigation of the absorption and metabolism combining various flavonoids and foods. To date, data from animal models and in vitro experiments indicate considerable differences among the different types of dietary flavonoids so that the most abundant ones in the diet do not necessarily produce the highest concentration of flavonoids or their metabolites in vivo. [Pg.665]

For this study, we analyzed all records of injirry acciderrts from the natiortal Austrian accident database, where cyclists were involved. The data covers the years 2002 until 2011 since data for 2012 was not available at the time of writing. While studies [ELV 99, LAN 03] recommend the use of hospital data for safety assessments, police data for accidents was used in this study since hospital data is not available for analysis in Austria. While accident insurance providers do collect data from hospitals, current data privacy laws do not allow for a consolidation of accident data from police and hospital sources. For the city of Vienna, the resulting dataset contains a total of 6,287 accidents. The database consists of several tables which describe the accidents. The accident table contains information about the location of the accident, the weather conditions, as well as the date and type of the accident. The participants table contains information about the participants such as age, degree of injury and type of vehicle. Table 10.4 shows the trends of the yearly nnmber of accidents. Fignre 10.1 presents a comparison of the trends of accident counts and bicycle counts based on the initial values for 2002. In the analysis time frame between 2002 and 2011, the data show no correlation between trends of accident counts and bicycle counts (R = 0.03). This suggests the validity of the concept of safety in numbers , which states, that an increase in the modal share of bicycles leads to a decrease in the number of accidents per cycled kilometer. [Pg.151]

Description. It can happen that in a proprietary data model the data type of a certain property was not modeled in an optimal way, e.g., the date can be represented in the format of string, instead of Date or DateTime. This type of correspondence encodes, therefore, how the value of one type in source ontology can be transformed into value of a different type in a target ontology. [Pg.144]

Example. All values of the hasStartingDate property in the PM ontology are strings in the following format DD/MMA YYY. But because the data type of the corresponding property in the CC ontology is Date, a data type transformation correspondence takes place between these two properties (see Fig. 6.5). [Pg.144]

The conversion of coal to gas on an industrial scale dates to the early nineteenth century (14). The gas, often referred to as manufactured gas, was produced in coke ovens or similar types of retorts by simply heating coal to vaporize the volatile constituents. Estimates based on modem data indicate that the gas mixture probably contained hydrogen (qv) (ca 50%), methane (ca 30%), carbon monoxide (qv) and carbon dioxide (qv) (ca 15%), and some inert material, such as nitrogen (qv), from which a heating value of approximately 20.5 MJ/m (550 Btu/fT) can be estimated (6). [Pg.62]

Once the weight has been determined, the cost is obtained by multiplying by a /lb figure. Up-to-date numbers for the type of vessel or fractionator being estimated can be obtained from a vendor, in-house historical data, literature, or estimating books such as Reference 12. Make sure the cost reflects the materials of construction to be used. [Pg.232]

Once we had provided the background data up to 1976, it seemed logical to keep the series current by adding discussion of newer agents. Reports of drugs for new indications as well as the occurrence of brand-new structural types as drugs made it particularly important to update the existing volumes. The five-year cycle for preparation of new volumes represents a compromise between timeliness and comprehensiveness. A shorter period would date earlier entries. This volume thus covers compounds reported up to 1982. [Pg.292]

These test procedures and standards are subject to change, so it is essential to keep up to date if one has to comply with them. It may be possible to obtain the latest issue on a specific test (such as a simple tensile test or a molecular weight test) by contacting the organization that issued it. For example, the ASTM issues new annual standards that include all changes. Their Annual Books of ASTM Standards contain more than seven thousand standards published in sixty-six volumes that include different materials and products. There are four volumes specifically on plastics 08.01-Plastics 1 08.02-Plastics 11 08.03-Plastics III, and 08.04-Plastic Pipe and Building Products. Other volumes include information on plastics and RPs. The complete ASTM index are listed under different categories for the different products, types of tests (by environment, chemical resistance, etc.), statistical analyses of different test data, and so on (56,128,129). [Pg.301]
