Daily logs

The failure events were obtained from Savannah River Plant sources such as Reactor Incident Reports, daily logs, and operating summaries. The records include over 4,400 events going back to 1970 for an effective average of 3 operating nuclear reactors. Some entries represent data averaging about 110 reactor years experience accumulated since operation began. [Pg.51]

A boiler inspection includes a thorough examination of all waterside and fireside surfaces, plus the permanent boiler log, daily log, and other water treatment and maintenance records. Any economizers, attemperators, FW heaters, and other associated equipment may also be inspected. [Pg.614]

Daily logs Collecting data is perhaps the most fundamental aspect of PM. Without data, there is no way to determine the conditions of the membranes. See Chapter 11.2 for details about the type of data to collect. [Pg.252]

The use and benefits of regression analysis can be appreciable, particularly in the evaluation of process data. In these applications, processes having as many as fifty variables, which are continuously changing over months of operation, can be evaluated by this technique. For these, the daily log records for say 400 to 500 data points are analyzed through the selected model (usually linear as a first approximation) to determine the relative effects of each variable on the response. This analysis in many cases has led to qualitative and often to quantitative determination of key operating variables whose effect had been masked on individual data point comparisons by the simultaneous changes in other less important, but unknown, variables. [Pg.765]

Many professional writers carry small notebooks with them so they can jot down ideas and impressions for future use. Other people have kept daily logs or diaries for years to record their thoughts for their own enjoyment. In your composition class, you may find it useful to keep a journal that will help you with your writing process, especially in the early stages of prewriting. Journals can also help you to prepare for class discussions and to remember important course material. [Pg.25]

Notebooks must be kept with a daily log of all observations and data. Each page should have a title and date, and at the end of each period a brief r sum6 must be written of the day s work, signed by initials of the worker and someone who was with him in the laboratory. The OSHAct requirements specify that any illness or injury to an employee that causes time lost from the job, treatment beyond first aid, transfer to another job, loss of consciousness, or an occupational iUness must be recorded on a daily log of injuries and illnesses, the OSHA 300 form (previously the 200 form). This log identifies the injured person, the date and time of the injury, the department or plant location where the injury occurred, and a brief description of the occurrence of the injury, highlighting salient facts such as the chemical, physical agent, or machinery involved and the nature of the injury. An injury should be recorded on the day that it occurs, but this is not always possible with MSDs and other cumulative trauma injuries. The number of days that the person is absent from the job is also recorded upon the employee s return to work. In addition to the daily log, a more detailed form is filled out for each injury that occurs. This form provides a more detailed description of the nature of the injury, the extent of damage to the employee, the factors that could... [Pg.1173]

It is also possible to determine the severity of company injuries. Two methods are typically used. In the first, the total number of days lost due to injuries is compiled from the OSHA 300 daily log and divided by the total number of injuries recorded on the OSHA 300 daily log. This gives an average number of days lost per injury. In the second, the total number of days lost is multiphed by 200,000 and then divided by the number of hours worked by the company employees. This gives a severity index per 100 person hours of work. These measures can also be compa to an industry average. [Pg.1174]

Keep a Record. It will benefit you to keep a daily work log. It includes a description of your assignment and how the assignment is fulfilled. You may add any thoughts on your work of that day. It is like a diary but devoted to the URE only. The daily log shall follow an overview describing your responsibilities and the project you are in. At the conclusion of the URE period, you can add a summary on your overall experience. Such a record will come in handy when you apply for graduate study and assistantship and when you apply for a job. [Pg.87]

Second, the exceptions normally only exempt the driver from specific portions of the hours-of-service regulations, such as having to complete a daily log. They generally do not exempt the driver from all hours-of-service regulations and they certainly do not exempt drivers from other regulations, such as the requirement to carry a medical card. [Pg.434]

All drivers are expected to submit accurate, true, neat, and legible daily logs in a timely manner. [Pg.482]
