Cycle counting

For each type of cycle, the contribution to the total damage n/N in equation 1) must be evaluated. After determining n, from a cycle count, Ni must be found. For this, an SN-curve and a constant-life diagram (CLD) are needed. In the following, some possible modifications to the SN-formulation and the constant-life diagram are discussed. [Pg.570]

At the start of each work day subjects were given a recharged unit with a fresh charcoal tube to wear during the performance of their usual routine. The time and machine cycle counts were recorded at the start and finish of the day. Each PSP had a calibration factor unique to its cycle counts (e.g. 5.4 co/oyole) such that the exact volume of air sampled was determined. If the subject had to leave the building for any period of time the unit was turned off and the time and counts recorded. Likewise, they were recorded when the unit was restarted upon reentry. At day s end, final readings were made by the technician in charge who also took each Charcoal tube, sealed it with plastic endcaps, and tagged it for analysis. Tubes were kept frozen until extracted. [Pg.245]

Inventory accuracy Inventory above 99% is the norm with real-time warehouse management systems, bar coding, and electronic order processing. Annual physical inventories are eliminated and cycle counting is fully embraced. [Pg.1529]

Inventory accuracy is determined by an effective cycle-counting program. Cycle counting used—10 Count once per year—7 Count occasionally—5 Do no inventory counts—0... [Pg.1597]

Number of stock outs Evaluates the MRO inventory/materials management process capability to have the on-hand quantities needed for stock items that are normally stocked in the maintenance storeroom. Provides an excellent countermeasure to ensure planned inventory reduction goal is not detrimental to storeroom customer service. Does not measure nonstock items that require requisitioning/purchasing as direct purchases or availability of project-related items. Percent inventory accuracy Maintains accurate fiscal accountability of stocked items to ensure total confidence in current inventory levels and dollar value of MRO inventories. Measures the effectiveness of the cycle-counting process and storeroom control. [Pg.1602]

Inventory accuracy Cycle counting will be used to manage inventory accuracy, and accuracy above 98% wftl be the norm. [Pg.1615]

Inventory accuracy is a must for a maintenance storeroom. It must have 98% or better accuracy. If not, the craftspeople will bypass the storeroom to order a new part. It is critical that they have confidence in the accuracy. In order to attain this level of accuracy, it is necessary to cycle count. Timely detection of errors and correction of causes for the errors are essential to good control. All storerooms must have a proper cataloging system as a permanent record of aU storeroom items and as a tool for identifying and locating items. [Pg.1616]

Repetitions of a subsequence is a special case of identical sequences. If a subsequence is repeated a large number of times (i.e., in the sequence o,6,a,6,a,6, the sequence a,b is repeated three times), it can be advantageous to replace the repetitionstate repetition with a loop over the sequence and an external counter (see figure 2). The counter only counts a fixed number of cycles and then generates a ready signal. More than one repetition can be replaced in this way if the counter is extended to allow a number of different cycle counts. [Pg.216]

A major function of management is control. Cycle counting is a technique that is used to control inventory. One of the most common failures in inventory systems is that the data are not accurate. This error can be prevented. One common technique is to bar code inventory, so that the amount of inventory and the type of inventory at each stage can be quickly scanned into the computer. But, it is also important that cycle counts be conducted. [Pg.204]

Cycle counting is a method of counting all of the items in inventory on a rotating basis. The frequency with which a particular type of inventory is counted can reflect its classification in the ABC analysis discussed earlier, but all inventory needs to be counted on some regular basis. For example, the inventory could be divided into 20 sets. Each set would then be counted once in every 20 days. This physical count of actual inventory and the reconciliation of the computer records will help to improve accuracy. In addition, the cycle count will provide information about where bad data are entering the system, or where data are not entering the system. [Pg.204]

Inventory adjustment Supervisors investigate the inventory discrepancies found after cycle count and figure out the root causes forit. Then supervisors take corrective measures, adjust the discrepancy, and notify the ERP system to ensure accurate inventory. [Pg.218]

Zymosan was added to each vial 30 seconds before the fourth cycle count. Curves a through d represent the CL responses from 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 and 40,000 PMN, respectively. [Pg.382]

The thickness of the interphase is proportional to the amount of electrolytes consumed during its formation cycles the irreversible capacity in the initial cycles was often used to quantify the thickness as a measure for the quahty of the SEI. Based on the correlation between the thickness of interphase and irreversible capacity, Dahn et al. developed a high-precision coulometry method to study the growth of interphase formed on graphite surface [70]. Their experimental results showed that time and temperature, while not cycle count, are the dominant contributors to the growth of the SEI. They also addressed the equations (5.1-5.3) to describe the SEI growth rate and consumption of Li on graphite electrode ... [Pg.258]

While it is critically important for employees and managers to trust leaders in the organization, the impact of being trusted by one s leader cannot be overstated. Many peak moments of inclusion came because of being entrusted with a variety of tasks and information. For example, this Big Store District Manager recalled that his peak inclusive moment occurred seven years prior AS A PART-TIMER, BEING ASKED BY THE STORE MANAGER TO CONDUCT ALL CYCLE COUNTS AND HELP WITH YEAR-END INVENTORY. This stood out to me because] I FELT TRUSTED AND PART OF THE TEAM. ... [Pg.142]
