Current market situation

The current marketing situation of GM cereals seems to be a result of hysteria in the popular press and, in the case of Europeans, a political move to boycott American imports. Taking a long-term and pragmatic view point, these issues may well disappear when time demonstrates they are incorrect in the first place and unfounded in the second. 

To understand the popularity of adhesive bonding in the automotive industry, one needs to take a look at the characteristics that define the current market situation for autos.

Before we discuss the use of waste biomass in biosurfactant production, it is important to discuss some basic concepts related to the current market situation for biosurfactants. 

Mix design, performance, and economics have been considered traditionally in pavement design in a largely empirical or intuitive way which does not allow simple comparisons to be made between candidate materials such as concrete and asphalt. A more efficient and consistent means of considering them is warranted because of the current need to use the most economical materials in a rapidly changing market situation. 

Activity changes for non-energy production sectors were defined based on results of bottom-up, market-oriented analysis. Production growth in these sectors is more dynamic and could reach yearly rates higher than 20% (see Figure 12.3). Future activities estimates were based on the current sector situation, market conditions and assessment of development potential. Wide consultations with sectors were performed. 

From time to time, summaries about the tungsten ore reserves are published in the current literature. In principle, it must be taken into account that all those figures are based on estimates. Moreover, they are influenced by the demand of tungsten, the market situation, and consequently by the world market price for tungsten. 

It is evident that since the WWB Act of 2004 the number of people on welfare has dropped, despite an unfavourable labour market situation. By the end of 2005 the total of people on welfare amounted to 328,000, 11.000 less than the year before. In almost half of the municipalities the volume dropped by 7.6%.97 In a survey municipalities ascribe this success to their Work First policies, including their enforcement. Currently no less than 85% of the municipalities use a Work First approach. Workfare in the format of Work First jobs is regarded by Dutch municipalities as their most successful instalment in getting welfare numbers down (Divosa 2007). Comparing the results of regular activating paths with Work First indeed shows much better micro effects for Work First (see Table 18). As for macro effects, there are no data available at present. 

The current prices depend on the type of electrolyzer or solar cells, and vary quickly with improvements in technology and changes in the market situation. As an illustration, the dependence of the optimum ratio of the total areas of solar array and electrolyzer on the ratio of specific costs Ug/Ug was computed (see Fig. 11) for the same plant [25] by which means it is possible to predict the design parameters of the plant depending on the market prices. 

How does the current profit situation of the company compare to the market situation ... 

Current market-specifications demanded of injection molders in a general market situation are shown in Figme 1-3. 

It is conceivable that the bio-based polyamides might also find many suitable appUcations in the broad area of automotive and tmck parts, but due to their current price situation and low capacities it is highly unlikely that this will be the dominant segment. As seen in Table 10.1, the bio-based polyamides have a different set of properties compared to the more price sensitive short-chain polyamides. To gain market entrance, it would be wise to focus on appUcation... 

The results of the optimization procedure can be the basis for further decision processes. They can optimize on several expected market situations and the respective consequences. In this case, the formal methods provide the presented functionality, but they have to be adapted to the individual application in order to perform efficiently. This is due to the fact, that an optimization operation is even more difficult from a computational point of view than a consistency check. Therefore, it is even more sensitive to the given product model. As a consequence, research towards a general approach for optimization of complex products is needed. Furthermore, there is currently no standard mechanism for the specification of the input parameters like the costs for the product model or the sales figures.
