CRM in aviation has evolved over 25 years into a mandated, regulated discipline, and cultural change has been slow to occur (Musson and Helmreich, 2004). CRM in healthcare is currently still in its infancy with little or no regulation as to its content or providers. Adaptation of CRM training from other industries into health may not work, and input into this type of training must come from specialists with experience from within the health sector and be individualized to each institution (Musson and Helmreich, 2004). Further studies into the effects of CRM in healthcare are urgently needed to determine the needs and effects of this type of training.
