A wide range of indicators are being used in the description of the environmental impacts of agriculture. Particularly, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) pushes the development of a common set of indicators at an international level. The assessment presented here is based on the Driver-State-Response (DSR) framework that has been developed by the OECD in (OECD 1997). This frameworkis internationally accepted and allows cross-country comparisons. Whenever appropriate, simplifications and modifications have been made. [Pg.260]

To ensure a unified product, two coordinating mechanisms were adopted. First, a common outline (Appendix II) was developed to provide a more uniform presentation of the experience of each Member State and to facilitate inter-country comparisons by readers. Second, a structured interaction between contributors, experts and editors was followed to bring out the common features and to highlight the important differences among countries. This process consisted of two highly focused workshops in the course of 2005 to provide the opportunity for informed discussion and a common knowledge base among... [Pg.5]

Figure 3 shows a cross-time and cross-country comparison based on this approach. As stated before, a courrtty becomes more efficierrt as EEI approaches 1. Note that an EEI of 1 can represent a different specific energy con-srrmption for different poirrts in time (and for different coimtries). [Pg.50]

In Finland, fatal workplace accidents have declined in recent years. This can be considered relatively good, as fatal accident figures for Finland have previously been one of the lowest in country comparisons (see e.g., European Commission 2006 Health and Safety Executive 2014 Takala 1999). According to the preliminary estimate of the Federation of Accident Insurance Institutions (FAII), in Finland 20 workers died in workplace accidents in 2013 (Federation of Accident Insurance Institutions 2014b), while the figures in 2011 and 2012 were 28 and 26,... [Pg.111]

It is significant that the detailed calculation in addition to the quotation enables a detailed post-costing of individual components of the mold and the construction effort as well as a clear, orderly documentation of this data for the use in new calculations. This results in the reduced subsequent computational effort, while improving the accuracy. The level of detail, which is chosen in the example, also enables the calculation of the influence of material price and wage changes according to the tariff, as it is necessary for the continuous updating and comparative project invoices (cross-country comparisons/variant comparisons). [Pg.644]

Within the qualitative analysis of the DaCoTA research project, a thorough analysis and cross-checking of the questioimaire responses and related coimnents was carried out, for both the govermnental representatives and the independent experts, in order to draw a lehable and accurate picture or profile for each country, and allowing for in-depth country comparisons for selected key items.
