Cooperative networks

This kind of direct cooperation between organizations resembles a graphlike network cooperation structure in a peer-to-peer mode which is not supported in the former delegation-based concept of AHEAD Both subcontractors cannot cooperate with each other directly but only through their common contractor, the chemical company (shown in the left part of the Figure). In this way, only tree-like cooperation structures are possible. Although this delegation-based process decomposition approach is sufficient in many situations, often direct cooperation between all partners of a cooperative network of companies is needed as well. 

A simple calixarene built up with four phenol units linked via methylene bridges is shown in Fig. 10 (substitution of the methylene junctions with S atoms gives rise to the class of thiocalixarenes). Cooperative networks of intramolecular hydrogen bonds (circular array of hydrogen bonds, observed also in cyclodextrins) play a capital role in the cavity shape as well as in the conformational features of the macrocyclic skeleton [291-293]. Encapsulation of other molecules in the cavity is also controlled by hydrogen bonds [294].

As a general conclusion, EC and other initiatives or international organisms created the framework for educational and training programs, very close linked to the research ones, to promote international collaboration on subject fields of general interest for our communities. This offers the opportunity to institutions from different countries to participatory education and research projects, to agree and create cooperation networks, showing the common interest in the sustainable development of our society. 

Of course it is possible that metaboHtes predicted theoretically may not be formed by nature. Nevertheless the prediction fadHtates the analytical search for compounds while investigafing the metabolic fate of I Ls in biological test systems. Such studies are under way within a cooperating network.

The apparent contradiction between inflammatory chemokine and chemokine receptor redundancy observed in vitro and specific phenotypes revealed from gene-targeted animals can be resolved if one considers that these chemokines and their receptors function as a cooperative network in vivo to generate a complete immune response.
