Contract condition

On compressors with gas seals, it is very desirable to use the contract buffer gas skid. Use of the skid provides the contract filtration level as well as having the regulators sized for contract conditions and checks the buffer gas skid functioning. Most shop systems are built of surplus parts and tend to use manual regulation, which may lead to serious test stand problems. If the skid is not available, it is important to have the vendor provide a comprehensive plan on how the shop buffer gas will be set up. 

Pump tests are needed to establish the performance of a machine before delivery to the user so that contract conditions may be satisfied. They are also required to establish the health of the pump at intervals in its service life. When a new pump is delivered, the pump manufacturer will supply data required either as a set of performance points or a plot as a certificate of suitability. Ideally, the pump should be tested in the system configuration that it is intended to supply, but usually tests are performed in the test bay in a standardized manner laid down by national and international codes. When a pump is installed, a simple test may be performed to establish a performance point in a similar way to periodic tests to establish how the machine s performance is being affected. 

The foregoing conditions were applied successfully in the synthesis of diplodialide A (175 Scheme 37). Since earlier studies had demonstrated that the sulfide-contraction conditions were not compatible with a,3-unsaturated thioamides, the 3-acetoxy precursor (173) was used instead. The intramolecular sulfide-contraction reaction successfully accomplished the cyclization to generate the P-keto lactone (174) in modest yields. Elimination of the acetoxy group yielded diplodialide A (175). 

It is an accepted fact that consultants owe a duty of care to their clients. Consultants clients expect a quality of work above that which would normally be supplied by an average person with average knowledge. Consultants are experts in their chosen areas of work and therefore the client can expect a quality of work commensurate with that professional standing and position. Unlike the USA, however, this duty of care is only shown to the consultant s primary client and the UK consultant does not normally need to consider any further users of their work. In order to limit their liability American consultancies tend to place limitations of liability either within standard contract conditions or within their reports, making it quite clear that their reports should be utilised only by their primary client, and for the original purpose of the consultant s brief.

Even when the work required is known, the process of determining how many people are needed can be very difficult. The first step is to break down the work required into shifts, with the number of people needed for each shift. The whole process depends on several factors and will be discussed in some detail in the subsequent sections. The criteria involved are as follows what shift lengths are to be considered, what contract conditions apply, how many part-time workers are to be used, what sickness rate can be expected, what vacation and statutory hohday conditions apply, and what are the capabilities of the staff available.
