Connection redundant

Both tables, the atom and the bond lists, are linked through the atom indices. An alternative coimection table in the form of a redundant CT is shown in Figure 2-21. There, the first two columns give the index of an atom and the corresponding element symbol. The bond list is integrated into a tabular form in which the atoms are defined. Thus, the bond list extends the table behind the first two columns of the atom list. An atom can be bonded to several other atoms the atom with index 1 is connected to the atoms 2, 4, 5, and 6. These can also be written on one line. Then, a given row contains a focused atom in the atom list, followed by the indices of all the atoms to which this atom is bonded. Additionally, the bond orders are inserted directly following the atom in-... [Pg.40]

Almost all chemical information systems work with tlicir own special type of connection table. They often use various formats distinguishing between internal and external connection tables. In most cases, the internal connection tables arc redundant, thus allowing maximum flexibility and increasing the speed of data processing. The external connection tables are usually non-redundant in order to save disk space. Although a connection table can be cprcsented in many different ways, the core remains the same the list of atoms and the list of bonds. Thus, the conversion of one connection table format into another is usually a fairly straightforward task. [Pg.42]

Also, for this option, several levels can be observed concerning the integration of the airflow model. The lowest level of integration still requires separate input for the thermal and the airflow model respectively with a high degree of redundancy in the input parameters (e.g., zones must be input for both models), and the connectivity of the airflows and the zones in the thermal model must be established manually by the user. More sophisticated levels have reduced redundancy and automatic establishment of the link connectivity. [Pg.1096]

Gaussian includes a facility for automatically generating a starting structure for a transition state optimization based upon the reactants and products that the transition structure connects, known as the STQN method. This feature is requested with the QST2 option to the Opt keyword. Input files using this option will include two title and molecule specification sections. The facility generates a guess for the transition structure which is midway between the reactants and products, in terms of redundant internal coordinates. [Pg.46]

This scheme has all circuit breakers linked in a closed loop, with connections entering at the junction between breakers. This way, any connection may be isolated or any single circuit breaker removed without interrupting the other connections. This provides a higher level of redundancy than the systems mentioned above. Control and protective relaying issues are somewhat more complicated for this arrangement. [Pg.429]

A double bus, double breaker arrangement provides a link to each bus through an independent breaker for each connection. This provides full redundancy in case of malfunction, or the need to perform maintenance on a circuit breaker or bus, but is the most expensive configuration. [Pg.429]

A number of anode connections will be made to the d.c. power source using proprietary splice kits (approximately one for every 60-80 m of concrete to be protected). This will provide redundancy for anode failure and reduce ohmic losses along the anode cable. Care must also be taken not to expose the copper conductor during installation or anode failure could take place. Once fitted to the concrete surface a 15 mm thick cementitious overlay is applied above the anode mesh, as recommended by the anode manufacturer, although thickness of up to 35-40 mm have been applied in some instances. [Pg.190]

The values 1/V(dj dj) are for the atoms i and j, which make up this bond, and the connectivity index, x, is obtained as the sum of the bond connectivities. In molecules containing heteroatoms, the d values were considered to be equal to the difference between the number of valence electrons (E") and the number of hydrogen atoms (hi). Thus, for an alcoholic oxygen atom, d = 1, and d = 5. The valence connectivity-index, y can then be calculated the use of removes redundancies that can occur through the use of y alone. The calculation of connectivity indices and for the case of two isomeric heptanols is as follows. [Pg.229]

Another consideration in developing connection details for blast resistant structures is the provision for redundant load path. Because these elements may be stressed near their ultimate capacity the possibility of single failures must be considered. Where possible, it is desirable to provide an alternate load path should a failure occur. Consideration should be given to the number of components in the load path and the consequences of single failures. The key concept in the development of these details is to trace the load or reaction through the connection. This is much more critical in blast design than in conventionally loaded structures. [Pg.69]

Obviously we should not allow multiple iterations of the same rule to increase the value of the consequent. If this were to be allowed then one could obtain any final value by simply re-iterating the same rule sufficient times. But redundancies in rules arise in subtle ways, e.g, B => A and C => A where B <-> C, i.e, B is another name for C. Finally, it can be shown that even if the chain of relation between B and C contains logical connectives other than <->, then allowing two successive inferences to increase the value of the consequence above that inferred by the strongest alone can lead to problems. [Pg.199]

Recently, a connection between histone methylation and DNA methylation has been made in Neuospora crassa [254,255]. This discovery outlines a redundant relationship between two distinct mechanisms for the selective repression of DNA and formation of heterochromatin, as both of these effects have been shown to facilitate the formation of restrictive chromatin architectures [256]. Importantly, this significant observation has implications for proviral repression [257], and physiologic development and disease prevention [258]. [Pg.260]

According to (12.82), 771 must vanish whenever the determinantal row or column vectors become linearly dependent, i.e., when there exists some linear combination Y of the variables Xf+ 2, Xf+ 3,..., Xc+2 such that F(A) = -A) for every phase A. For example, when p = 2, 771 must vanish when values of and c+2 are proportional in the two phases. The vanishing of 77 signals a type of redundancy of the extensive variable Xb as though the system could be prepared from one fewer chemical component than had been supposed. However, the vanishing of an 77 could arise from other special linear relationships connecting entropies or volumes, as well as composition variables. [Pg.415]

We remind that an automorphism of a simple graph is a permutation of the vertices preserving adjacencies between vertices. For plane graphs, we require also that faces are sent to faces but for 3-connected graphs this condition is redundant. Recall that Aut(G) denotes the group of automorphisms of G. [Pg.12]

Squibs with redundant bridgewire circuits have three wire connections, of which one is being shared, or four connections. The two circuits can be energized from one electrical source or from two separate sources. Standard... [Pg.434]
