Conducting films types

In this type of Microscopy a fine beam of electrons is scanned across the surface of an opaque specimen to which a light conducting film has been applied by evaporation. Secondary electrons, backscattered elections, or (in the electron microprobe)... [Pg.76]

The crosslinkable COCs have been suggested for the use as alternatives for a glass substrate of a liquid crystal display devices and an electroluminescence (EL) display devices. Moreover, a crosslinkable COC can be used as a polarizing film, surface protective film, retardation film, transparent conductive film, light diffusion film, film for EL display devices, transparent conductive composite material, anti-reflection film, etc. Methods how to prepare these types of films have been described in detail (47). [Pg.54]

While dicarboxylic acid-functional pyrroles have received only cursory attention in condensation polymerizations, other derivatives have been studied extensively. Pyrrole itself has been electrooxidatively polymerized (81CS145) to give a flexible conductive film, presumably containing poly(2,5-pyrrolediyl) units (23) as the main structural feature. The blue-black polymer obviously contains other functionality, as evidenced by elemental analysis and by the fact that it carries a partial positive charge, and it exhibits p-type conductivities approaching the metallic range (e.g. 100 fi-1 cm-1). The main utility of poly(pyrrole) (23) has been for the modification of electrode surfaces, although numerous other applications can be envisioned. [Pg.274]

Flowmeter. To monitor flow of carrier gas, a variety of devices are available, such as differential capillary, thermal conductivity, ionization, rotameters, and calibrated soap-film tubes Measurement of the flow may either be continuous or intermittent, and the flowmeter may be placed either in front of the column or at the carrier gas outlet. The soap-film type is most commonly used because of its economy and ease of operation. [Pg.87]

This process can be nuclear or film type. In nuclear boiling, bubbles detach themselves quickly from the heat transfer surface. In film boiling the rate of heat transfer is retarded by an adherent vapor film through which heat supply must be by conduction. Either mode... [Pg.187]

The next three chapters review the deposition of thermally-induced dielectric films (Chapter 3) and metallic conducting films (Chapter 4), as well as plasma-enhanced films of either type (Chapter 5). The many chemical systems employed to create these films are considered, and the nature of the resulting films is presented. Films studied are silicon dioxide, silicon nitride, polysilicon, epitaxial silicon, the refractory metal silicides, tungsten and aluminum. [Pg.223]

With structural quality in most of the non-equilibrium growth processes compromised, microstructure and point defects largely dominate the electrical characteristics of most films described in the literature, where InN is typically reported as highly conductive n-type and polycrystalline. [Pg.129]
