Simple Commands

SHMO is a simple Huckel MO program in FORTRAN that functions much as MOBAS does and is also based on the Dickson program. The SHMO source code must be compiled. Compiled SHMO is in executable code (.exe). Run SHMO from the system level (do not go into BASIC) with the single command... [Pg.223]

Cursors of different shapes and sizes can be designed easily by the microcomputer user through simple programming, such as using the BASIC commands GET and PUT. The movement of the user-created cursor is controlled through the use of the INKEY function and by testing the ASCII codes of the keyboard keys. [Pg.65]

As already stated above, the database has been developed using ISIS software. The program operation is very simple, and about 30 min to learn the particular commands of this structure-searching program. ISIS provides both storage and retrieval of chemical structures. It is also possible to store text and numeric data into database entries. Because molecular structures are searchable in many ways, ISIS software is an excellent tool for exploiting data, and not simply archiving it. [Pg.98]

The operator acquires the target by means of a magnifying optical device. As soon as the missile enters his field of vision after launch, the operator commands it to his line of sight by means of a joy-stick. The signals are transmitted over wires trailed from the missile. Tracer flares are installed on the rear of the missile for visual reference. When installed in a helicopter or ship, the simple sighting device used for land vehicles is replaced by a special stabilized sight... [Pg.353]

The procedure for building a structure can be long and complex, if the structure is large and complex, but the commands are simple. We will illustrate by building the structure for 3-ethylpiperidine, which uses the most important commands. We begin with the command STRUCTURE. The system will ask if we wish to build on a structure previously used. If we say no, we will then get the prompt... [Pg.1634]

Sedated Difficult to arouse, awakens with verbal stimuli or gently shaking but drifts off again, follows simple commands... [Pg.75]

Sherwin-Williams has developed such a polymer process control system. The methodology used to accommodate the contrasting requirements has two key elements. First, the software is based on a simple architecture that places the definition of changing reactor hardware elements and characteristics in easily modified configuration files (5). Second, the language uses a small number of basic commands to describe formulations and reactor control. Complex operations are described by reference to commands tables (macros) built using several basic commands or other macros. [Pg.179]

Now using the MATLAB command line software, we can easily demonstrate this solution (for the multivariate problem we have identified) using a series of simple matrix operations as shown in Table 21-1 below ... [Pg.108]

Several software packages contain simple command lines for performing matrix computations directly and thus are conveniently capable of computing the correlation coefficient, for example as in r2 (Equation 59-8). [Pg.386]

As an alternative to simple cooling, we can test the consequences of quenching the ore fluid by incrementally mixing cooler water into it. The commands... [Pg.325]

I chose to use this software for reasons that extend beyond familiarity and prejudice the programs are interactive and take simple commands as input. As such, I can include within the text of this book scripts that in a few lines show the precise steps taken to calculate each result. Readers can, of course, reproduce the calculations by using any of a number of other modeling programs, such as those listed in Appendix 1. Following the steps shown in the text, they should be able to construct input in the format recognized by the chosen program. [Pg.564]

This sounds simple, and for the most part, it is. You already have a command of the English language that includes knowledge of thousands of words denotative (literal, primary) meanings. Therefore, all you need to do is choose the right ones to get your message across. [Pg.83]

Table 16.4 provides the summary of economic costs and results. The presumption throughout is that each process can be operated with environmental and human safety to produce a fully satisfactory product of sufficient quality to command market prices. The processes which produce discrete products, i.e. methanolysis and hydrolysis, will have to meet commercial specifications. The mixed-species product processes, i.e. simple glycolysis, hybrid and glycolysis with color filtration, must be able to feed adjacent polymerization facilities to make satisfactory product. Because the simple glycolysis process has little purification capability,... [Pg.579]

The first bit of the address is designed to be 0 so as to guarantee that I C arbitration resolves in favor of input messages to the microsystem with respect to output messages. The f C interface accepts incoming messages of two formats a simple two-byte command message (A)... [Pg.69]

A closer examination of the case studies reveals the extreme complexity and inter-hnked nature of the processes in an innovative system. Determining, which were the decisive factors that were manifest by a particular example of substitution, tended to be irresolvable in view of this complexity. A top-down analysis of the systems view of the simple model assists in orientation. In addition, some phenomena that are important for iimovation processes can only be revealed from a systems view, e.g. system inertia and system ambience , which is frequently referred to as the innovation chmate . Decisively, phenomena such as emergence are only discemable at a systems level. Emergence is of central importance for the comprehension of innovation processes, where development of a new element is the core feature. Emergence means that a novel, impredicted and usually complex feature is produced in the system (or by the system) which no individual contributor had planned or could conceivably plan. In most cases, new elements can neither be commanded externally nor can they be negotiated in a discourse between the participants from their estabhshed interests. Creativity is required here. [Pg.110]
