Clipboard

Sin ce the Molecu lar Dynamics Results window con lain ing plots is a true window, an image of it alone can be captured into the clipboard or a file using Top-level in the File/Preferences/Setiip Image dialog box. Th is captured image, in addition to shtnving the molecular dynamics plots, shows the Restart and Done buttons, etc. If you on ly want the plots, you can erase the details of the box with a paint program, such as Microsoft Windows Pain thru sh which comes with Microsoft Windows. 

Ensure that relevant information is readily available on the vehicle, e.g. on a clipboard in the cab. This written information, e.g. as a TREMCARD, should contain details of the nature of the load and the action to take in an emergency. 

Copy under the Edit menu is used for eopying graphics and data onto the clipboard. This can later be imported into such programs as Microsoft Word and Excel. There are two modes of operation ... 

Where Distance, Angle or Dihedral (Geometry menu) or Energy, Dipole Moment or Atomic Charges (Properties menu) have been selected, Copy copies the selected quantity, in addition to the name of the molecule, to the clipboard. (For molecule collections, quantities for all members together with member names are copied to the clipboard.) Otherwise, Copy copies the contents of the screen (minus the background) to the clipboard. 

The last item in the menu bar is (Output), which contains the selections (Setup Printer), (Setup Print Job), (Print Graph and Main Results), (Print Table of Detailed Results), and (Copy to Clipboard). 

Copy to Clipboard) provides the selection (Graph), (Results), and (Values). (See Fig. 5.9.) One of the three can be selected and sent to the clipboard. After changing to another application, such as Microsoft Word, the contents of the clipboard can be retrieved use the [Alt] [Tab] keys for rapidly switching between active programs. After returning to the SMAC program, select the next output.

Chart paper carriage. This is where the chart paper nestles while you run an IR. If it looks suspiciously like a clipboard, it s because that s how it works. 

Chart paper hold-doum clip. Just like a clipboard, this holds the paper down in the carrier. 

Get a piece of IR paper and load the chart paper carriage, just like a clipboard. Move the paper to get the index line on the paper to line up with the index line on the instrument. It s at 4000 cm-1 and it s only a rough guide. Later I ll tell you how to calibrate your chart paper. 

For each type, consider whether the number of its collaborators can be reduced by a rearrangement of responsibilities. For example, we get the Editor to transfer deleted material to the Clipboard rather than get the Documents to talk to the Clipboard at the Editor s behest. That avoids the need for the Document (or its designer) to know about Clipboards, with the benefit that Documents can be reused in other designs where there is no Clipboard. 

The option "Select" can be used to copy on the "clipboard" any figure appearing in the windows of the CHAOS program. For example, you can copy synthetic pathways obtained with the option "Synthetic sequence" (Process menu), synthesis trees, etc. 

Note The disconnections only remain on the clipboard while you do not leave the program. If you leave CHAOSBASE and then re-enter, you will have lost any information on the clipboard.

Select Edit and then Copy from the menus or type CTRL-C to copy the selected items to the clipboard. Next, switch to Microsoft Word and place the cursor at the location where you would like to place the circuit ... 

Select Window and then Copy to Clipboard from the Probe menus ... 

We are provided with several options as to how we copy the plot to the clipboard. We will first experiment with the background. Uncheck the option ItiaHe Window and plot backgrounds transparent and then click the OK button ... 

When you click the OK button, the image is copied to the clipboard. Switch to MS Word, place the cursor at the location at which you would like to insert the picture, and then select Edit and then Paste from the MS Word menus ... 

We notice that the plot background is black. This is the effect of not selecting the background to be transparent. Delete the picture and then switch back to Probe. Select Window and then Copy to Clipboard, and select the options as shown ... 

Here we have selected options to make the background transparent and use the screen colors shown in Probe. Click the OK button to copy the Probe screen to the clipboard. Switch to MS Word and paste the image into your document ... 

The data for the trace has now been copied to the clipboard. Switch to your spreadsheet application and select the cell that you would like to contain the text label for the time data. The data will be pasted into two columns. The first column will contain the time coefficient of the data. The first row will contain the text labels of the data (Time and V(Vin) in this example). I will paste the data starting at cell Al ... 

In a similar manner to the program for optimization of a packed column, the program written in table (2) is in a very simple form that can be translated easily to the basic language used by other computers. The output will be sent directly to the monitor screen in the output window. However, by replacing the PRINT statements by LPRINT statements the output will be sent to a printer. If the clipboard is defined a file, and the result print, statements are replaced by write statements, then the results can be sent to the clipboard and pasted into word processing text. An example of an output from the program Is shown in Table (3),... 

To be most effective, each student should have a clipboard posted near the work area. This clipboard will include all the information needed for the experiment ... 

Sends the plot as a vector-oriented metafile to the MS-WINDOWS clipboard from where it can be transferred into any other MS-WINDOWS program. The plot area of the output is taken from the currently displayed area in the Spectrum window. Parameter lists and the title cannot be transferred using this method. They can be copied by transferring the output, including the title and lists, first into the Preview window, from where it may be copied to the MS-WINDOWS clipboard using the Copy option in the Edit pull-down menu in the Preview window menu bar. 

Set up a layout including a spectrum, a textfile and a graphic file with the structural formula of glucose and try to copy this layout via the clipboard into your word processor program, e.g. WORD for WINDOWS.
