Classification of chemical

The timescale is just one sub-classification of chemical exchange. It can be further divided into coupled versus uncoupled systems, mutual or non-mutual exchange, inter- or intra-molecular processes and solids versus liquids. However, all of these can be treated in a consistent and clear fashion. 

A more detailed classification of chemical reactions will give specifications on the mechanism of a reaction electrophilic aromatic substitution, nucleophilic aliphatic substitution, etc. Details on this mechanism can be included to various degrees thus, nucleophilic aliphatic substitutions can further be classified into Sf l and reactions. However, as reaction conditions such as a change in solvent can shift a mechanism from one type to another, such details are of interest in the discussion of reaction mechanism but less so in reaction classification.

The approach to developing metrics for process safety is analogous to those that might be used to assess Occupational Exposure risk. One can cite as well several indices that have been developed as metrics for estimating and ranking the safety of a given process or chemical reaction, such as the DOW fire and explosion index,the Stoessel index ° for hazard assessment and classification of chemical reactions, the Inherent Safety Index, the Prototype Index for Inherent Safety, amongst others. ... 

Thus, as of today, there is no reliable classification of various types of adsorption. Presumably, it would be most correct to consider various types of adsorption interactions consistent with classification of chemical bonds [19].

Based on these definitions and descriptions, classification of chemical products can be performed in a more scientific way, without ambiguities and/or overlap. These classifications should help to understand the nature of some products and to organize their study. This preliminary approach is expected to give examples and/or methodologies of design using these principles in the near future.

ICSCs are a potential tool for the implementation of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for the labeling and classification of chemicals as they contain the necessary hazard data for this purpose. 

Corrositex uses a synthetic membrane-based detection system to determine the UN packing group classification of chemicals, consumer products, or other hazardous materials. 

OECD has published a document on a Harmonised integrated classification system for human health and environmental hazards of chemical substances and mixtures (OECD 2001b). Chapter 2.1 addresses a harmonized system for the classification of chemicals which cause acute toxicity, and Chapter 2.8 addresses the chemicals which cause specific target organ oriented systemic toxicity following a single exposure.
