Chang studies

Here we revisit two important topics in limnology just to show that climate change studies that only include data from lakes are not applicable to reservoirs. Firstly, we show that temperature trends in reservoirs and lakes cannot be interpreted in the same way. Secondly, we show that drivers of the deep-water oxygen content in reservoirs and lakes can be very different. This last analysis will be used in the following section as the starting point for a new framework for climate change impact studies in reservoirs. 

We have shown that the cationic species are almost dominant and only a small portion of the cationic species is neutralized (discharged) when they are trapped at the bilayer interface. The discharging of the small portion of the cationic species DEC H in membranes is confirmed by the pH change study [48]. The proton should be released into the aqueous phase in the discharging process of DEC H+ at the membrane surface. In fact, the pH of the solution is decreased to a small extent after the addition of the EPC SUV. This means that only a small portion of the DEC H molecules is discharged the pH value is not decreased to the value of the complete discharging. The fraction of the DEC neutralized at the bilayer surface is estimated to be smaller than 1% of the total amount.

Levy and others (35,36) have developed an extensive literature which demonstrates in animal models of disease that the pharmacodynamics of a number of drugs are altered, even after controlling for pharmacokinetic changes. Studies with drugs administered as racemic mixtures in humans with renal dysfunction, hepatic dysfunction, and other disease states that address the issue of stereoselective pharmacodynamics are lacking. However, the cited animal studies suggest that such a line of investigation would be fruitful.

Most reconstructive transitions take place by processes of formation and growth of nuclei of the product phase and the kinetics are often described by the model developed by Johnson, Mehl, Avrami and Erofeev (see Chapter 3).
