Certificate of compliance

The latest government regulations set forth under the Toxic Substances Control Act and in PubHc Health Service pubHcations should be checked before formulating new lubricants. Users of lubricants should request Material Safety Data Sheets for each substance involved plus certification of compliance from vendors. Lubricant compounders should insist on similar information from their suppHers for any additive packages. Manufacturers of both additives and lubricants commonly make toxicity checks on commercial products. 

Regulatory requirements may apply to health, safety, environmental emissions, and electromagnetic compatibility and these often require accompanying certification of compliance. In cases where customers require suppliers to be certified to ISO/TS 16949 it imposes a regulatory requirement on the design process. 

Until U.S. EPA calls in the facility s Part B permit application, where precise permit conditions will be established through a trial burn, owners/operators of interim status BIFs must ensure compliance with emission standards by showing certification of precompliance and certification of compliance. As the deadlines for these certifications have already passed, all interim status BIFs, except for possible extenuating circumstances, should be in the compliance stage.

These guidelines were originally developed for testing the suitability of plastics used in medical devices that may come into contact with bodily fluids, but they have been extended to adhesives as well. Generally, products are tested by an independent laboratory. The results are typically provided to device or adhesive manufacturers in the form of certifications of compliance on an as-requested basis. Meeting these standards verifies that the successfully tested products are nontoxic and biologically inert in the cured state.

In general terms, for companies conducting non-clinical safety studies, it is, a regulatory requirement, and without this certificate or certification of compliance, data will generally not be accepted by the receiving/regulatory authorities. 

Raw material specifications must be at the level of a recognised pharmacopoeia. However, for purposes of release of the raw material, at least the identification and assay is required and any parameter that can be prejudiced during transport. It may not be necessary to test all the pzirameters providing a vcilid certificate of analysis (CoA) is routinely available. Valid in this context meains a certificate of analysis not older than one year, reflecting the results of actucd testing cind containing the raw material batch number clearly stated and must not be confused with a certificate of compliance or specification sheet. 

Certificate of Compiiance A certificate of compfiance shall be included if specified. This certificate of compliance shall include the necessary evidence and assurance that the pump supplied is being supplied according to the requirements of this Standard and meets additional requirements identified in the purchaser s specification and purchase order. It shall be the purchaser s responsibility to select the manufacturer that is capable and qualified to supply the specified pumping equipment and that maintains the proper credentials for supplying the certificate of compliance. 

Inspection and certification of compliance with a quality system (such as the applicable International Standardization Organization (ISO) series, or national or international guidelines) by external bodies is recommended. Such certification should not, however, be seen as a substitute for...

Certification. The various types of paperwork used to check products include materials test report (MTR), certificate of compliance (COC), product analysis and purchase order. See Chapter 2 under MTR, COC and Product Analysis. The product description should match the purchase order.
