Capacity transportation

Molecular and cellular processes were visualized by X-ray contrast agents long before the term molecular imaging became popular and even before the advent of early CT (Table 1). Because of the above-mentioned limitations in the sensitivity of contrast detection by X-ray radiography, the latter can only visualize high capacity transport mechanisms and the nonspecific uptake of particles by specialized cells. 

For solving the tasks mentioned above, reliable experimental pure component properties (vapor pressures, densities, heat capacities, transport properties, etc.) and mixture data (phase equilibria, and excess properties) for the system considered would be most desirable. Some decades ago, a time-consuming literature search was always necessary to obtain these data. In the meantime comprehensive factual data banks, for example, the Dortmund Data Bank (DDB), NIST data bank, DIPPR data bank, and so on, have been built up. These data banks contain a great part of the worldwide available experimental data. 

For transport, the third large-scale activity with ammunition and explosives, the concepts and the regulations have not yet been worked out, mainly for reasons of financial support and capacity. Transport was given second priority because there are many civilian regulations that apparently must and can be followed without severe problems. A preliminary step will soon be taken to investigate whether transport is safe regarding the quantitative safety concept.

The optimal routes probably not included a dry port into the network. Thereby, Route no. 5 might not perform efficiently, if the dry port could be not considered to invest. Also, the corridor could not be improved since the territory along the corridor has less potential to develop industrial plants. Hence, in order to promote economic activities over the region along the corridor, a dry port was a critical logistics facility. It had to directly connect to seaports with high-capacity transport means such as rail links.

Various constraints exist in both case companies, including inventory capacity, transportation capacity and production capacity. For example, the interviews show that labour quality and operation management could influence the production capacity and productivity in China. Based on the data from the case studies, the constraints are classified into three groups corresponding to three SC processes, namely, DSC, ISC, and production and raw material procurement (Table 5.2). These constraints are designed as input parameters in the model so that they can be easily changed according to the company s data.
