Bioluminescence functions in mating (fireflies, the Bahama fireworm), in the search for prey (angler fish, Photmus fireflies), camouflage (hatchet fish, squid), schooling (euphausiid shrimp), and to aid deep water fish (flashlight fish, Photoblepharon to see in the dark ocean depths. 

Vat Dyes. AppUed to ceUulosic fibers, vat dyes yield prints with exceUent fastness properties. They are used to print furnishings, drapes, and camouflage where their iafrared reflectance resembles natural terrain and foUage. Their appUcation can foUow two different procedures.

There can be many uses for these fibers. Weaving them into fabric, for example, could create color-changing camouflage uniforms... 

The use of small electrochromic points allows the construction of monochromic or multichromic flat screens. Using different conducting polymers with complementary colors on ITO-coated flexible plastics (now available commercially), camouflage cloths can be envisaged which, once connected to a video camera and a system of image treatment, would be able to mimic any surrounding, as chameleons or cuttlefish do. 

Fibers of the conducting polymer polypvrrole are woven into radar camouflage cloth. Because it absorbs microwaves, rather than reflecting them back to their source, the cloth appears to be a patch of empty space on radar. 

By coating the compliant electrodes with a thicker but softer layer of polymer gel, the gel can spread out along with the expanding fihn during actuation but bunches at points where the film compresses. If the polymers are imprinted with patterns of electrodes or shades of dots in a variety of shapes, these features can be raised or lowered to fabricate an active camouflage fabric which can change its reflectance for any defence systems and soldiers. 

Here, past events help to explain current events via implicit principles of natural selection. Such ultimate explanations have been famously criticized as just-so stories, too easy to frame and too difficult to test (Gould and Lewontin, 1979). There is certainly something to this charge. Just because available data or even experience shows that eyespots are widespread does not guarantee that they are adaptive now. Even if they are adaptive now, this is by itself insufficient grounds to claim they were selected because they were the best available adaptation for camouflage, as opposed to some other function, or for that matter that they were not selected at all but... 

Secondly, many of the ingredients and materials used in fabricating homemade items are so commonplace or innocuous they can be carried without arousing suspicion. The completed item itself often is more easily concealed or camouflaged. 

Fragmentation hand grenades dispersed along a trail or road and camouflaged provide an excellent ambush technique. With a primacord system any number can be fired simultaneously.

Finally, it should also be considered that flavonoid-rich foods contain a great diversity of compounds with bioactive properties (for e.g., carotenoids, other phenolics, fiber, and minerals), and multiple interactions occur among all of them. There is also great diversity in the ingestion, absorption, and metabolism of these compounds in different populations, and all of these circumstances could camouflage any effect of flavonoids on disease prevention or treatment. 

Mr. Sprecher May it please Your Honors, as chief of this trial team, I feel a certain responsibility as to many of the things which have been selected to go mto evidence. He had sworn also that detailed reports of the almost exclusive sales of Zyclon B to Auschwitz had gone to Hoerlein and the others. 

Von Knieriem loved mystery. The "Shadow" factories were secretly manufacturing for war, the WIFO storage plants were "standing by" for war. But the most subtle camouflage was even more ominous. Confronted by a contract having something to do with the city of Ammendorf, Von Knieriem frowned.
