Dry reduced nickel catalyst protected by fat is the most common catalyst for the hydrogenation of fatty acids. The composition of this type of catalyst is about 25% nickel, 25% inert carrier, and 50% soHd fat. Manufacturers of this catalyst include Calsicat (Mallinckrodt), Harshaw (Engelhard), United Catalysts (Sud Chemie), and Unichema. Other catalysts that stiH have some place in fatty acid hydrogenation are so-called wet reduced nickel catalysts (formate catalysts), Raney nickel catalysts, and precious metal catalysts, primarily palladium on carbon. The spent nickel catalysts are usually sent to a broker who seUs them for recovery of nickel value. Spent palladium catalysts are usually returned to the catalyst suppHer for credit of palladium value. 

The terms cocoa and cacao often are used interchangeably in the Hterature. Both terms describe various products from harvest through processing. In this article, the term cocoa will be used to describe products in general and the term cacao will be reserved for botanical contexts. Cocoa traders and brokers frequendy use the term raw cocoa to distinguish unroasted cocoa beans from finished products this term is used to report statistics for cocoa bean production and consumption. 

Because dealings in the stock of a hsted company are published, a healthy company engenders confidence that makes it easier to obtain other forms of finance. In the absence of a regular market, stock transactions are necessarily infrequent, and prices are liable to wide fluctuation, which may make creditors wary and possibly lead to bankruptcy proceedings. Such deahngs are usually referred to as over-the-counter and are confined to the relatively few specialist brokers who hold inventories of such stock and are prepared to make a market in them or are hmited to private transactions.

On occasions, the amount of a claim will be found to exceed the sum insured, and as the sum insured is the maximum amount the insurer will pay, the insured will not be fully compensated for his loss. It is the responsibility of the insured, with the assistance of his broker or other intermediary, to ensure that sums insured are adequate and are not eroded by inflation. The plant engineer also has a responsibility to inform his broker if he increases the value of plant items, adds substantially to the total value of items at any one location or, where items are insured individually, takes additional items into service or removes them from service. 

It is very important to understand that an insurance policy is a legal document, and insurance negotiations should be approached on this basis. Insurance contracts have a detailed legal background of both case law and common law in the interpretation of their provisions. Professional insurance advice from a reputable source, whether an insurance company or an insurance broker, is essential if problems are to be avoided. 

It is normal practice in insurance for surveyors employed by the insurance company or the insurance broker to inspect premises that are to be insured and prepare reports for the underwriters. A major part of the survey report is an assessment of the quality of the fire protection relative to the level of hazard in the premises. Obviously, the business being carried on has a considerable influence on the risk of fire or explosion.

It is possible to sell directly to the consumer (via farm shops, farmers markets, mail order and internet), or to restaurants and institutional buyers, or to brokers, distributors, wholesalers, processors, food manufacturers, millers, abattoirs, butchers, farm shops, co-operatives, local retail stores, speciality stores and large supermarket chains. If one outlet does not work, it is possible to switch to another. Some farmers use multiple outlets, selling directly to consumers as well as commercially to middlemen. In this way, the farmer is not reliant on just one outlet. Some farmers also take the decision to have their own processing facility, such as milk processing or cheese-making. 

Distributors and wholesalers may act as middlemen, moving raw products from the farmer to the processor or manufacturer, or moving processed food to retailers. They will have information on how much is needed by the manufacturer and what quality. Brokers may also do the marketing and check that stores properly present your product.
