From the standpoint of biblical scholarship, the Persian period was important in shaping and developing the Judean community from a defeated nation to a religious entity. However, biblical sources for this period are limited to the brief books of Ezra and Nehemiah, some of the minor prophetic books, and an occasional reference or indirect inference in some later work. [Pg.56]

One source of that advice is the FDA itself. There are formal FDA meetings, which require a written meeting request and briefing book (see Chapters 2 and 3), most appropriate before development and submission of an IND or an NDA. Less formally, FDA spokespersons often make presentations at local and national conferences. Their presentations are often available on the FDA Web site (http // www.fda.gov) as well as through the specific conference. Finally, some individuals from the FDA will respond directly to telephone or e-mail questions. All three of these sources can be effective information conduits and can help build strong contracts and relationships within the FDA. [Pg.2]

The Briefing Book repeats the key questions and is organized around those issues. It then provides a narrative summary of the question context, a bibliography of references relevant to those issues, and an indexed copy of those actual references. [Pg.45]

The Meeting Request, Briefing Book, actual meeting, and FDA Summary Memo will provide important context and reaction to the planned IND, NDA,... [Pg.45]

The process of filing an IND follows a carefully prescribed route, though it may be possible to bypass some of the steps in the case of a clear and non-controversial drug. Generally, there are five steps meeting request, briefing book, meeting, submission, and remediation. [Pg.85]

More often, the FDA will schedule the meeting and request a Briefing Book at a specified time (usually four weeks) prior to the meeting. While the proposed date is open to discussion, FDA calendars are very tight, and alternate meetings should only be proposed in extreme cases. [Pg.85]

The Briefing Book provides the rationale evidence behind each questions and abibliography of references (including both the citing and the actual publication). It provides an opportunity to expand on the question and to make a clear case for the submitting organization s position on the issue. [Pg.85]

At the meeting, the FDA will focus—often in great detail—on those questions raised in the Briefing Book that are considered controversial. While the meeting is not an inquisition, it may be a detailed cross-examination and... [Pg.85]

Again, a Briefing Book should be submitted (usually two weeks prior to the meeting) to allow the FDA team to rapidly come up to speed on the issues raised and to provide appropriate context for the questions under discussion. There is sometimes a regrettable tendency to bury or attempt to disguise controversial questions or problems. The better strategy in almost all cases is to identify these issues clearly, analyze their implications, propose remediation of response, and clearly defend that response. Consider the statement ... [Pg.122]

In a brief book by former well-known herbalist and author Hanna Kroeger of Boulder, Colorado, titled Free Your Body of Tumors and Cysts, it was stated that tumors are caused by fungi as well as viruses. Among those caused by fungi she lists hard tumors, a tumor formed by the fungus maduromycates as found in India, and prostate cancer. As for the kinds caused by viruses, she lists the following four virus classifications papilloma and papilloma combined with Epstein-Barr, Epstein-Barr with herpes, herpes with another virus, and retroviruses. [Pg.74]
