We previously described [25] the function of soybean lipoxygenase-1 in a biphasic system (modified Lewis cell) composed of an aqueous phase (borate buffer) and octane. We developed a convenient synthesis of 3-cyclopentenyl hydroperoxide via hydro-boration and autoxidation of cyclopentadiene, and bromination proceeded smoothly to afford 32 40). The two-substituted-Quinazolinap-derived rhodium complexes proved extremely efficient catalysts for the hydro-boration-oxidation of vinylarenes (Table 6).
