Bibliography of Reviews in Chemistry

Bibliography of Chemical Reviews, later known as Bibliography of Reviews in Chemistry. Special bibliographies are occasionally published, such as the Bibliography of the Stable Isotopes of Oxygen and O s by D. Samuel and F. Steckel (Pergamon, 1959) which is complete to 1957 and has author and subject indexes. 

A brief review is Recent Developments in Inorganic and Organic Analytical Chemistry by T. S. West (RIC Lectures, 1959(1)). Others can be found in the Bibliography of Chemical Reviews, later entitled Bibliography of Reviews in Chemistry. A very useful German source is Fresenius Zeitschrift fur analytische Chemie... 

This chapter focuses upon selection algorithms, but it is perhaps worth mentioning that genetic algorithms, and related approaches to evolutionary computing, have been applied to several aspects of combinatorial chemistry the reader is referred to the reviews by Clark for an extensive bibliography of work in this area [67, 75],... 

The bibliography for this chapter is perhaps the most difficult to write. The majority of references in this entire book pertain to organic molecules. The organic references listed here are just a few of the review references pertaining specifically to organic chemistry. This list is incomplete, but attempts to include recent reviews, which will reference earlier work. The listing for other classes of molecules are more complete. 

A list of previous books and reviews on block copolymers is given in the bibliography. There have been no authored books in the field since the volume by Noshay and McGrath in 1977, and this was primarily concerned with the chemistry and materials science. Most of the literature consists of outdated edited books, although a number of review articles have appeared recently. The field has advanced rapidly during the last two decades, with major new theoretical developments, discoveries of new morphologies and the initiation of research in new fields such as thin films, crystalline solids and gels in concentrated solutions. It is thus hoped that this book is timely and fulfils the need for an up-to-date summary of the fundamental physics of block copolymers. 

Although HPLC has superseded TLC in many application areas, conventional TLC plays a useful role where cost, rapidity, and simplicity are the overiding factors. Quantitative TLC has continued to grow in popularity. For in-depth discussions and additional references of the topics discussed in this chapter, the reader should refer to Planar Chromatography Reviews in Analytical Chemistry (years ending in even numbers) and CAM AG Bibliography Services. 

This short text is intended to introduce the student of synthetic organic chemistry to the reactions of organoboron and organosilicon compounds which have been exploited by organic chemists, and to illustrate how these reactions have been applied to problems in organic synthesis. It is hoped that the chemistry described in this slim volume will encourage students to consult the more comprehensive reference texts and reviews available. These are listed in the bibliographies at the end of each section.

This chapter, covering the literature of the period 1995-2006, surveys the structure of furans and their benzo derivatives in continuation of chapter 2.05 of CHEC-II(1996) <1996CHEC-II(2)259>. A fairly recent review of, mostly synthetic, furan chemistry also contains a useful bibliography of spectroscopic data <2001SOS(9)183>. Structural aspects are included in a recent review of aminofurans <2006AHC1>. 

Chemical literature of the review type consists of collections of articles or chapters on specific topics written by presumed experts. The introduction to these reviews usually specifies the period of time covered. Ideally the reviews include critical evaluations of the work and progress in a specific area of research together with a rather complete bibliography of the important original research articles pertinent to that area. However, it should not be assumed that every reference to a particular subject is given or that aU of the author s critical interpretations are necessarily correct. A selection of the review hterature that is of special value in physical chemistry is hsted below.
