Juhua Group Company has more than 25 000 employees. It is the largest chemical industry enterprise in Zhejiang Province, mainly producing basic chemical industry raw materials/fertilizer, and is the largest fluorochemical producer and exporter of refrigerants in China. The company also produces pharmaceuticals and pesticides, construction materials, coloured metals, chemical industry machines, instruments and power. The company produces PVC resin with annual capacity of 20 000 tonnes.

SOXAL A flue-gas desulfurization process, basically similar to the Wellman-Lord process but regenerating the bisulfite solution in a membrane electrochemical cell. Developed by Allied Signal Group and piloted at the Florida Power Light Company, Miami, FL, in 1991. A larger demonstration plant was planned for Dunkirk, New York.

To achieve this goal, MED restructured its operations, concentrating on manufacturing, work force, and internal group structures. The first step was to achieve a significant reduction of manufacturing capacity. To do this, the company reduced the scope of the activities that were handled internally. Few books attempt to cover the area of automatic chemistry. Technical papers which relate to automation have most often been presented in analytical journals dealing with the basic subject area, and the details of the automation are less well documented than the chemistry. Aspects of management, education and economics are given scant treatment despite their importance. We have seen that the state-of-the-art methods for spraying or immersing the desulfurization slag in water have the potential to cause difficult air emissions and industrial hygiene problems. Several foundry companies and research groups have evaluated three different basic types of reactors for treatment of calcium carbide desulfurization slag.
