Bacterial decomposition

C, soluble in water and alcohol. It occurs in woad as the glucoside indican, and in mammalian urine, combined with sulphuric acid, as an ester, also called indican. It arises in the body from the bacterial decomposition of tryptophan. 

With respecd to item 1, bacterial decomposition initially occurs under aerobic conditions because a certain amount of air is trapped within the landfill. However, the oxygen in the trapped air is e diausted within days, and long-term decomposition occurs under anaerobic conditions. 

Many years ago, river water was used for the water layer in a large kerosene storage tank. Bacterial decomposition of impurities formed methane, which exploded. As so often happens, the source of ignition was never found [21]. 

This perturbation comes only from the carbonate in the approximately 100 meters thick surface mixed layer it contains about 0.15 g carbon/cm2, approximately equal to that in the atmosphere and to the organic carbon dissolved in the total depth of the sea. Tissue electrodes [2, 3, 4, 5, 45,57], In these biosensors, a thin layer of tissue is attached to the internal sensor. Cold seeps are also areas of high hydrostatic pressure, rich in molhisks, particularly mytilids, which thrive on hydrogen sulfide from bacterial decomposition of sunken wood or whale bones (Distel 2000).

It is also possible that bacterial decomposition of sulfur containing organic compounds may account for some DMS in natural waters (31-36). Conversely, bacteria may also utilize DMS and therefore act as a sink (37-39). The contribution of bacterial processes to the DMS/DMSP cycle in open ocean environments has not been addressed and is as yet not understood.
