An audit is a systematic, independent review to verify conformance with established guidelines or standards. An audit uses a well-defined review process to ensure consistency and allow the auditor to reach defensible conclusions. An audit evaluates the procedures, operations, and activities performed in the management and execution of a program in orderto verify conformity to established criteria. Such evaluations are intended to provide feedback to management and those responsible for the status of the audited program. [Pg.30]

The internal audit program takes into consideration the status and importance of processes and areas to be audited. The results from previous audits and the special needs are also taken into account. [Pg.66]

The audits are conducted according to the checklist. The audit program includes time frame, area, and concerned responsible parties. [Pg.398]

The waste audit program is Intended to provide assistance to California s small quantity generators of hazardous waste. This is accomplished by issuing contracts to evaluate waate reduction opportunities in industries typically comprised of small to medium businesses. Waste-generating operations are studied to identify potentials for reducing waste, recycling or recovering resources, or alternative treatment measures. The economic feasibilities of the various alternatives are analyzed, and the study results are compiled in a final waste audit report. [Pg.179]

The audit program employs contractors for completion of waste audit studies of specific industries. After the studies are completed a final report is then generated, containing recommendations and conclusions for waste reduction. The final report is used as a source document for developing the fact sheets and the WRAM for use by small quantity generators (SQG). Currently 19 different industry waste audit studies have been completed. [Pg.184]

Rather it is the result of a process which starts with any of the above factors, such as a design improvement, which then must be communicated and implemented over a period of time throughout the organization. Dow assures this continuous emphasis through a multifaceted audit program which covers every facility in the company. Several of these audits are described in detail in this chapter. [Pg.264]

On the other hand, if the process must be validated in an existing facility, existing IQ and OQ information may be adequate. In this case, the validation protocol might merely refer to the data rather than require its regeneration, especially when a credible calibration/audit program had been performed for the facility and equipment after the initial IQ and OQ were performed. This part of the validation work thus might merely be referenced in the validation document. [Pg.797]
