Attitude space

The same fluctuating microthoughts, emotions and experiences finally merging into an attitude may from time to time also lead to a transition from one attitude to another. Further, even new, hitherto unknown attitudes may develop in a sociological process hence, the manifold of possible attitudes is an open one. In Chap. 3 this manifold is described in terms of an "attitude space". [Pg.12]

In order to avoid problems of topology, in particular the problem of a metrically defined distance in attitude space, it is preferred to attribute a discrete number of possible attitudes to each aspect. [Pg.55]

Let it be assumed that A aspects exist and attribute dg possible attitudes ig = 1, 2,. ..,dg to each aspect a with a = 1, 2, It is then convenient to introduce the attitude space 21 spanned by A dimensions belonging to the A different aspects. The attitude vector i = q, i2,. .., i>i of an individual then... [Pg.55]

Assumed are P distinct populations a = 1, 2,. ..,P) and a one-dimensional attitude space SI, because the only aspect under consideration is habitation . Assuming L possible quarters or habitats i = 1, 2,..., L, for instance in a city, these correspond to the attitudes i to live in quarter The socio-configuration can be represented as a point in the C-dimensional socio-configuration space where C = PL ... [Pg.87]

Aqueous hydrogen peroxide is sold in grades ranging from 3 to 86 wt %, most often containing 35, 50, and 70 wt % H2O2. In the United States, the only use for 86% H2O2 (ca 1994) is for attitude (flight path behavior) control of space craft, etc. This minor amount is imported. [Pg.479]

Rocket engines arc also used for maneuvers in space. Some operations, such as a onetime transfer of a satellite from lower to higher orbit, could be performed by a solid-propellant engine. Yet many complex maneuvers, such as rendezvous and docking with another spacecraft, require multiple engine firings and variable power impulses. Hence modern spacecraft are equipped with an assortment of attitude control engines that usually use liquid storable propellant. [Pg.1072]

Thrusters are rockets for maneuvering and controlling the attitude of space vehicles. The usual monopropellant for thrusters is catalytically decomposed Hydrazine. The usual catalysts are iridium, rhodium or ruthenium and their mixts. For a review of Hydrazine thrusters see Refs 33, 34 35. Russi (Ref 34) emphasizes that, in spite of many studies and the general acceptance and apparent success of hydrazine thrusters, new rocket motor design is still largely empirical. A biproplnt consisting of Hydrazine mixed with Hydrazine Nitrate has also been tried in thrusters but is no longer popular... [Pg.597]

New Drop Test Fixture. A test tower (patented) is claimed to keep expl hardware reliably in the five attitudes required by the MIL-STD-33I drop test (nose-up, nose-down, horizontal, nose 45° up and nose 45° down). Hardware is kept in position by having fixture fall with it for 32 of the 40 feet Refs 1) Atlas/Aero space, No 8, Dec 1969. Westerners do not accept the existence of conscious processes for which they have no operational term. The attitude which is prevalent is - if you can t label it, and if it is beyond current notions of space-time and personality, then it is not open for investigation. Thus we see the ego-loss experience confused with schizophrenia. Thus we see present-day psychiatrists solemnly pronouncing the psychedelic keys as psychosis-producing and dangerous. [Pg.12]

Layered InSe and GaSe crystals attract investigator interest because of heterostructures based on them possess good photosensitivity and find their application in solar cells [1-3], At the same time distinctive feature of layered crystals - sharp anisotropy of chemical bonds (strong ion-covalent inside crystal layers and weak van der Waals between them) paid great attention of researchers to intercalation, that is to insertion of atoms and molecules into interlayer space of a layered crystal - the so-called van-der-Waals gap . In particular for InSe and GaSe crystals volume of van der Waals gap makes under the attitude to all volume of a crystal about 40+45 %. [Pg.325]
