Attendance Strategy

The behaviour and attendance strategy has a number of good behaviour whole-school audits which have been used by schools in conjunction with the behaviour and attendance consultants. [Pg.93]

Cycloalkenones are ubiquitous as reactive intermediates and bioactive materials. Modification of a simple cycloalkenone by addition of a carbon substituent at the o-position should be a useful transformation, but one that is not readily accomplished by conventional enone chemistry. a-Substituted cycloalkenones could of themselves be of interest, but perhaps, of more general importance would be their use as intermediates for the production of substituted cycloalkanones or a, 5-disubstituted cycloalkanones by a subsequent conjugate addition procedure.2 These strategies avoid many of the limitations attendant to the trapping of enolates with carbon electrophiles. The method of Kim involving treatment of enones with the combination of a dimethyl acetal, pyridine and trimethylsilyl triflates results in a-(1-methoxyalkyljenones.3 The metallation of a-bromoenones masked as ketals for [Pg.184]

As a further activity the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW) in co-operation with the OECD organised an international conference in Vienna in November 2003, which was called "Experiences and Perspectives of Service-oriented Strategies in the Chemicals Industry and Related Areas". The conference was attended by around 100 participants from 16 countries. The conference gave an excellent overview about international approaches how to introduce service elements into the chemical business. The participants comprised representatives from authorities, the chemical industry, in particular down stream users, process engineers and economists along with representatives from academia. [Pg.4]

In the alkylation with most commonly used stabilized nucleophiles, one quite obvious problem associated with this process is the physical separation between the chiral ligand and the reaction site. Both bond-breaking and -forming occur on the Jt-allyl face opposite the metal and its attendant ligand. Thus, efficient transfer of the chirality over the allyl barrier is key to a successful strategy for asymmetric allylic alkylation. [Pg.595]

Phytoremediation approaches (the use of green plants and their attendant bacteria to remove contaminants from soil and water, either directly by plant uptake or by stimulating microbial activity in the rhizosphere) have attracted interest as a possible low-cost remediation technology (Sadowsky and Smith, 1996). To date the application of phytoremediation strategies to clean up environmental contamination due to 3-triazine herbicides has been limited. However, the uptake and degradation of atrazine by poplar trees has been reported (Burken and Schnoor, 1996,1997). [Pg.320]

Supercritical fluids continue to attract interest as media for catalysis and chemical reactions because of their unique properties. They offer possible strategies for more economical chemical processes by increasing reaction rates, prolonging catalyst lifetime, and simplifying downstream processing. In addition to these considerations, the current trend towards pollution prevention in the chemical processing industry and the attendant search for environmentally benign solvents is... [Pg.379]
