Assembly stand

Parr single-valve bomb, shown in contact with bottom of calorimeter pail. One electrical contact is made automatically through the pail to the body of the bomb. The bomb should be mounted on an assembly stand while it is being loaded with the sample. 

The bomb is expensive and mnst be handled carefully. In particular, be veiy careful not to scratch or dent the closure surfaces or strip the threads on the screw cap. When the bomb is dismantled, its parts should be mounted on the assembly stand or placed gently on a clean, folded towel.

Hand layup. The oldest method is a purely manual operation. (1) The open female mold is first treated with mold release. (2) Optionally, a pigmented gel coat is applied 15 to 20 mils thick and partly cnred. (3) Glass fiber mat, or woven or knitted cloth, is hand-laid into the mold or onto the gel coat. (4) Thixotropic polyester/styrene liquid, containing MEK peroxide and activator, is impregnated into the cloth. (5) The assembly stands and cures at room temperature. This gives a product with one good surface and somewhat irregular thickness.

The directive entitles the Commission to take, for safety reasons, any appropriate measures with respect to classification of pressure equipment or assemblies. Assemble the apparatus shown in Fig. 56. F is a 200 ml. flat-bottomed flask supported on a sand-bath and connected by a glass delivery-tube to the wash-bottle B, which is about two-thirds full of 10% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. A second delivery-tube leads from B into a beehive stand (or between two earthenware tiles placed side by side) in a pneumatic trough T containing water. 

A powerful stirrer, driven by a flexible driving shaft between the motor (I h.p.) and the stirrer, is depicted in Fig. II, 7, 3. The motor may be placed at a distance from the stirrer head and reaction vessel, thus enabling the assembly to be used for inflammable, corrosive or fuming liquids without damage to the motor. Fig. 18 shows a trio of autoclaves. In the foreground is a bond assembly on a wheeled tool ready to be placed in the autoclave. A technician stands at a control console next to a two-level rack used for holding multiple bond tools in the autoclave. 

It is even possible that the system configuration is such that protecnon furnished by devices on one process component can protect others. That is, devices that may be required to provide adequate protection for a component standing alone may be redundant once all components are assembled in a system. API Filtration. A filter press is used to determine the wall building characteristics of mud. The press consists of a cylindrical mud chamber made of materials resistant to strongly alkaline solutions. A filler paper is placed on the bottom of the chamber just above a suitable support. The filtration area is 7.1 ( 0.1) in.-. Below the support is a drain tube for discharging the filtrate into a graduate cylinder. The entire assembly is supported by a stand so that a 100-psi pressure can be applied to the mud sample in the chamber. At the end of the 30-min filtration time volume of filtrate is reported as API filtration in milliliters. To obtain correlative results, one thickness of the proper 9-cm filter paper, Whatman No. 50, S S No. 5765, or the equivalent, must be used.
